Welcome back, Black Bloc.
I've missed you.

In the last two years we've had alot to think about, but somewhere in the midst our ever-renewed outrage, we can remember that there has been a fight against our common enemies going on for years. As the world has moved inexorably towards globalized economics—and becomes more dependent upon economic inequality between nations to make a profit—millions choose to resist. And not some kind of pussy letter-writing campaign. I'm talking about in your face and in the streets.

They do so right here in North America, in the face of growing repression since 9/11. In Quebec City in early 2001, when a young organizer named Jaggi Singh was tackled and arrested behind the protest lines, for charges which included the launching of teddy bears by catapult across the police lines. Right up to this very moment in Miami, with brave protesters being beaten and gassed protesting the very same Free Trade Area of the Americas.

Shutting down meetings the problem for you? These meetings are attended by the world's most powerful people. They have nothing but meetings, and they'll have another one—probably in Qatar or some other defensible spot next time.

Or perhaps you need to address the larger questions, like how much your own hand is in the globalization cookie jar. Or maybe your favorite Democratic presidential candidate. Sure, some people are getting rich. It's just not the majority of Americans, who are getting poorer as their employment base is stripped from them. And it's not the legions of new maquila factory workers, who are only seeing these shiny new factories built in their homeland because the world eceonomy has determined that they can be paid less.

Or maybe you, like these smart, brave kids in the streets today, are smart enough to perceive the relationships.
