less government, only for businesses and corporations, not for everyone else. They want the government out of business's hair so the corporations can do whatever they want and not suffer any consequences or be held liable, but they have no problem, in fact they demand, that government get into people's bedrooms (abortion, marriage and divorce regulations, gay marriage, etc., etc.) and their private lives (law enforcement should be able to spy on you, search your homes and cars without warrants or probability, etc., etc.).

See, they really don't want big government for themselves and their businesses and fat cat corporate contributors, just for unimportant people like you and me.

Here's another reason I'm so angry these days. PLEASE explain the justification for the Federal Marriage Amendment. This would codify intolerance into the United States Constitution.

"straight" person (and I hate that term because it makes it sound like gays are somehow "crooked" or "abnormal"), who has observed a lot of hysterical homophobia from people (many of whom believe that I feel the same way, so they feel free to spew their hatred in front of me), I 've always wondered that myself.

It's not just the fundie nutball bible thumpers (and as a liberal Christian, I can tell you that there is NO justification for homophobic hatred in the New Testament), either. It also comes from people with no particular religious beliefs or anything like that. I have never been able to figure it out myself.
