Dems are kicking butt in the Senate
I know the London protests and Turkey explosions

(not to mention a hideous ex-pop star)

are distracting things today. but Boxer was on fire in the last hour BLASTING away at the energy bill. passionate, detailed, very effective.

Leahy is up now. (1:50 EST) c-span2 I believe that Kennedy is scheduled to speak as well.

Edited on Thu Nov-20-03 02:04 PM by donsu
just tried the Miami TV stations and none were showing the protests and the violent cops - very, very uncharacterist of Miami TV, they usually cover everything/anything happening.

4. Leahy just talked about Kennedy
Where he was (library at Georgetown Univ.), talked about attending the funeral, the silence of 500,000 lining Pennsylvania Ave., then went on to talk about how much optimism and hope there was before Kennedy was shot, and how that hope and optimism is no longer here today. Even after 9-11, that hope and optimism never fully returned. It was a sad and sincere eulogy, not only of Kennedy, but of what we once were.
