What should be the next memorial on the Mall? |

Now that the World War II memorial nears completion, and the Museum of the American Indian is set as a major Smithsonian museum, and the MLK memorial looks like a reality, what's next? I suggest a memorial to the contributions of American slaves. Long overdue. They played a major role in building this country. Don't want it to turn into, as its main theme, how they were oppressed. I want to dignify their lives with their contributions. Their lives had meaning, independent of others' efforts to free them. What think?

I don't think they should add any more monuments to the Mall.

I was going to say Democracy, the Democratic Party, or truth.
Also, a memorial to all who died from taking inexpensive Canadian drugs. The numbers must be staggering.

5. John Adams deserves a monument |
|
He was the most instrumental person at the Continental Congress in terms of securing independance. I believe there is a proposal to erect an Adams monument on the tidal basin near Jefferson's (which would be appropriate).
