Michael Jackson camera coverage = opportunity for activism?
I heard this as a suggestion on Mike Malloy awhile back.

When the media seize our airwaves for one of these endless sensationalistic events, protestors arrive at the press colonies with Anti-media monopoly and antiwar protest signs--announce we are taking back access to our press freedom and do everything to disrupt the shots and get the signs into as many shots as possible. Or just walk behind the talking head as the stand up shot begins, and reveal your sign or tshirt message as you get in the shot, then casually walk on.
Hit and Run!

Have a statement prepared about how we will no longer tolerate this grievous misuse of our precious freedom of the press, and we demand that the nets begin covering the important stories instead of this 24/7 crapola.

Show up everyday, and contact the print media to tell them what you are doing.

I like the idea, even though I'm not in a position to act on it myself--hope somebody else can, though--I'd love to see this on TV!

Take a look at all those people standing around with their cameras, doing nothing, waiting for a shot--we could give them a worthwhile story for once!

2. Good idea.
I suggest protesters stick signs with this message in front of the cameras:

Once Bush is firmly connected with Michael in the public's consciousness, the media might be less interested in Neverland.
