Gen Franks discusses the possibility/probability of martial law
Michael Savage said Newsmax had an article in which Franks said if there were another terror attack on US soil, the people would demand martial law.

Savage said this bothers him because there would be no talk radio, just propaganda all the time (!?!?!?!?!?).

He said Brokow, Rather, Jennings would continue, but he would not be allowed to because he is 'too unpredictable, thinks for himself' (!?!?!).

He started out talking about the negative implications of martial law but was clearly conditioning his listeners and callers to accept this.

There's supposedly a poll on his web site: 'Would you want martial law in the event of a terror attack?'

2. "Michael Savage said Newsmax had an article"?
Edited on Fri Nov-21-03 10:16 AM by Richardo
Can you get anymore unreliable than that?

I guess if you said "Sean Hannity told me that Michael Savage said Newsmax had an article" that would be close. :eyes:

3. Please quote him correctly. He said WMD attack, not terror...
attack. A bomb in a garage can be a terror attack. Another airliner into a skyscraper would be a big terror attack. But he was talking about a WMD attack with massive casualties. There is a difference.

What do you think would happen if terrorists sprayed poison gas from a plane onto a major city during rush hour?

What do you think would happen if terrorists managed to get a nuke and wiped downtown Manhattan off the map?

Let's discuss what he actually said, not a distortion of what he said.

5. Spraying poison gas from a plane?
What kind of gas could be sprayed from a plane and still maintain a lethal concentration once it had filtered through the air to ground level?

7. A light plane can fly pretty damn close to the ground.
Alright, I'll admit that I don't know much about poison gasses, the concentration levels needed, etc. That's just one fast off-the-top-of-my head example. Your response ducks the main question:

In the event of a WMD attack with massive casualties, how will the public respond? Would the consitution survive.

Or do you maintain that such and attack is impossible?

9. Jesus Christ, any number of them!
Particularly if the plane was flying at 1,000 ft.

Blister agents only require the contact of an aerosolate dparticle something like a microgram/microliter to raise up a blister the size of a quarter.

Would you like a few of those in your throat and lungs?

I'd Google up some research, but I don't want the Imperial Secret Police to take an interest in me more than they already have based on my opposiiton to Imperial Family Rule.

But you need to educate yourself. Perhaps a visit to the library using a false ID, otherwise OHS can access what you've read there.

6. I think the next terror attack will be a WMD attack
Besides, supposedly anthrax is a WMD, and we have already had one round of anthrax attacks in this country.

8. With all due "respect" to Michael Savage...
I think he and bunch of other talk show tyrants would get lynched PDQ if there was a WMD attack on the U.S.
FAr from ushering in military rule it's just as likely mob rule would be the result.
