There are many levels - above the basement tabloid level - where MJ is relevant to what is going on in our nation, politically and morally.

Much of the public angst and outrage is very similar to the Salem witchcraft trials - where an unspeakable menace (witchcraft, now child molestation) is seen as the ultimate danger to good people everywhere. The authorities, for political gain, and the media, for money, whip the common people into a lynch mob - where the very idea of impartial juries become a joke.
