NYC subway conductors carry guns and wear bulletproof vests? |
|
I just ran out to get a pack of cigs and there was subway conductor on line in front of me.
he was wearing a bulletproof vest & had a revolver in a holster on his hip.
I've lived in NYC for over 10 years and I had no idea subway conductors could carry firearms.
does anyone know anything more about this? is this a result of 9/11 or was this going on prior to that?

1. has the terror alert level gone up |
|
and they haven't advised us? I know NYC has been on a level higher than the rest of the country, but that's pretty frightening ... I'm thankful I lived in New York before 9/11 because to encounter that kind of firepower has got to be chilling.

his holster kept falling off his waist and there was no clasp on it… I probably could've grabbed the gun and killed everyone in the store.

Really inspires trust in those guys. What I loved about living in NY was that you had to take public transport, which allowed for interaction with a lot of different kinds of people .. If people start hearing about what's going on in the subways, they'll stop trusting.. sad, sad.

9. Are you sure it wasn't a cop or even an plainclothes/undercover cop? |
|
There are regular patrols on the Subway, but I've yet to see any plainclothes cops....scary...
