My reasons for gay marriage
Almost four years ago I met a wonderful woman. The moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she was my soul mate. I knew she was the person in this world created for me to commit souly to her.

As our relationship grew so did our love to the point where I wanted to make the ultimate commitment to her, and she to me. We want to be married.

We want our relationship to turn from just being a regular committed manogomous relationship into one where we truly become family.

I love this woman with all my heart and soul. I would do anything in my power to protect her. She is my best friend, my lover, my family, my soul mate, the one person I want to spend the rest of life with.

I have no intentions on marrying her, only to turn around and separate from her, after we take our vowes with one another, you know why? Because we have fought long and hard just for the right to live in the same country with one another. Every day is a separation for us, because we aren't together, so I know all to well what life without her is like, and I don't like it. She is the person I love, and I want to be with her in every way, and I don't understand why people are against our relationship.

I have no intentions on going to a church and forcing my way of life on them, and as such, I don't appreciate the church forcing their values on me.

I don't want to marry Sapphocrat for the soul purpose of taxation rights, hostpital visitation rights, immigration rights, inheritence rights, etc, etc, etc, I want to marry her, because she IS the GREATEST love of my life. She brings out the me in me.

I love Sapphocrat with every ounce of my being and as such I demand some respect from those who deem our relationship invalid from marriage, because we are same sex.

We are not out to destroy the so called sanctity of marriage, heterosexuals have already done that by forcing the divorce rate above 50%. We are two people who are very much in love and want to marry one another for that very reason. We know what is right for us, not you, so butt out!

1. nice story FC
and you nailed it in a true way about the so called sancity of marriage, my dad brought up in a strong Catholic family of 6 is the only one in that family not to divorce, amazing isn't it. Also there is no universal morality as well. Who cares if two people of the same gender get married, it doesnt affect or bother me. It's a pity really. Here's to sucess :toast:

2. Awesome post
Let's hope that it will become a reality years from now. Honestly, I feel that Republicans are on the losing side of this.

3. You guys are gonna pull it off I know you will
by you I mean GLBT, I am not of that but I wish the best of luck. However even though I am a white boy, I know that people like me had their intial setbacks and got places, such is history, you will find equality. They are on the losing side of this Serp not just legally but morally, this is about as Kucinich said about civil rights nothin more nothin less. Now if you excuse me I will be watching this thing on JFK and will be back in three hours.

5. Just a beautiful story.
May you and Sapphocrat have many years of love together.

A beautiful love story...and the best possible counterargument to those opponents of gay marriage who just don't understand.

Thank you,
Terry
