Who will get the VP slot?
Interesting article in the Washington Post talking about the possibilites.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A7255-2003Nov22.html

Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson were prominently mentioned.

1. if John Edwards isn't the Presidential nominee
If John Edwards isn't the Presidential nominee, he'd be a good Vice Presidential nominee. Make the southeast more comptetitive.

Also, he's young enough that he could then run for President 8 years later if the ticket wins.

3. only if Clark is the nominee
There aren't really any Gephardt or Leiberman backers so I'm not considering there candidacies

but if Kerry is the nominee he'll almost certainly pick Graham, and if Dean is he'll almost certainly pick Clark

7. Are you sure Kerry-Edwards couldnt happen
Edited on Sun Nov-23-03 05:56 AM by JohnKleeb
 I think that could work honestly, now to your candiate and mine
You may not know this BT but our two candiates have a mutual respect of one another, and I have a good respect of Edwards and liking of him, Elizabeth Edwards I heard is a big Kucinich fan, she of course supports John for the nomination but likes Dennis, good people.

4. Idiot Post writer
gets it wrong. Gore won Iowa, albeit by a very small margin.

Dammit don't these people research anything?

5. god talk about a sloppy article, this is the WASHINGTON POST?
They say Bush won Iowa, which he didn't.

And Richardson declared that he would never take the VP slot if offered in 2004. It's really sad that the premier politically big newspaper in the US can get this kind of thing so wrong

6. VP? Let's face it, Dean's VP.
Friends,

Let's be clear on this. The only candidate the Dems have in this election is going to be Dean. So the question is, who will be Dean's VP choice.

If it's Edwards, I have to say that Edwards, because of the quality and nature of his opposition to Dean, is certainly spending a lot of time shitting in his own bed. Graham and Clark are also, if not Southerners, candidates acceptable to Southerners, and it's my guess that one of the above will be VP choice.

I'm not ruling Edwards out, but for a man who is absolutely unqualified to be president, he certainly isn't easing himself into the birth that could bring him the presidency in 10 years.

Stupidity doesn't sit well with anyone.

8. Yeah!
Why should we even bother with the caucauses and primaries. Lets just give Dean the nomination.

11. All the pompous talk
makes it harder to back Dean. If he wins the nomination, he needs a southerner on the ticket or he's concedeing all the electoral votes below Maryland.

10. Make no mistake about it...
Bill Richardson will be a BRUTAL choice for me to swallow. Plus, he's easily tied into to Monicaland, so...bad, bad idea.

I want Dean to pick Clark. Or vice versa. Those two can and will kick Bush's sorry ass back to Crawford and that pseudo-ranch he has down there.
