Holy Smokes. Did anyone see Kerry's ads responding to the RNC?
Great slam of Bush and his HALLIBURTON cronies, too.

It's called "No, Mr. President."

1. Liked the first half
Didn't care for the "share the burden" line, reminds me of 'white man's burden' a little too much.

4. Kerry says the only way to stop the war is to turn it into a UN action
where other countries, including Muslim countries share the burden and the reponsibilities of bringing about stability for Iraq. He wants the US occupation to cease by giving up that political and financial control that Bush is holding onto so tightly.

21. Anything to keep Kerry from his responsibility for a proIWR vote
I must admit he's really burning the midnight oil on this one. But when push comes to shove, the public will still be asking "Why, John?" on IWR and he'll still be peddling his mealy mouthed excuses and other derivative bullshit.

Business as usual.

31. Sen. Kerry is qualified to serve as Commander-in-Chief.
He's been tested in combat and demonstrated leadership that always accomplished the mission. His heroic actions also protected the lives of those under his command.

OTOH, your candidate, Howard Dean, is a draft-dodger. Who'd want to follow orders from someone who did all he could to avoid combat? Not me and certainly not the men and women in uniform.

Edited on Sun Nov-23-03 04:25 PM by hedda_foil
It was a quickie internet thing thrown up on Friday night for the blog crowd. The real commercial is coming.

On edit ... and yes, the Kerry ad is terrific. They did a great job getting it out fast.

8. Excellent, but...
I was wondering why in all the candidates' ads they say, "I approved this message because..." That just sounds odd explaining why they approved the words coming out of their own mouths. Why don't they just leave that wierd little disclaimer out?

9. They have to say "I approved this message"
It's part of McCain-Feingold. It's designed so people will know what really came from the candidate, and what came from interest groups.

I agree, it sound awkward, but it's unavoidable now.

24. Yes, it's the most awkward part.
But, I think that Kerry handles saying it really well. He makes it seem not so odd.

it reminds people that saying no to him is still allowed, despite everything the republicans are saying.

26. Impressive
That was a great ad...and I normally can't stand political ads (why do most of them look exactly alike? Is there only one advertising agency in DC?)

I wish Dean's new ad sounded as critical against bush as Kerry's ad. I do like knowing that there are various bush bashing ads out this early though. Is MoveOn running ads in Iowa? Does anyone know if Clark, Lieberman, and Edwards will be making a response ad to bush?

I especially love how Dean and Kerry are both going after Bush, not each other, at least for the moment. They should both keep doing that.
