I now know why the repubs believe Sapphocrat doesn't deserve...
...the right to sponsor me (her foreign partner) for immigration.

I found this AP article this morning concerning Binational couples:

Said Robert Knight of the Culture and Family Institute: "Homosexual activists are nibbling around the edges, trying to validate their version of marriage without confronting the public head-on."

I can't tell you how angry I am right now, because this whole posting would be deleted due to the profanity rules, if I did.

This isn't about validating any kind of marriage. Sappho and I are currently NOT married. We happen to be in a very committed and manogomous relationship which has been going on now for near on four years, no matter what crap they (the government) put us through.

With them spewing stuff like that around it is no wonder we haven't been able to make any leaps since Nadler (D-NY) introduced the first version of the PPIA into congress three years ago. The PPIA is dead, it will never get anywhere.

How dare they!

2. I feel like my hands are tied.
There is nothing I can do to be with the woman I love.

I am just so damned angry, right now, that I don't know what to say, because I just can't find the right words.

3. words probably cant express your sorrow FC
Its despicable really. I believe its about civil rights pure and simple, plus why should heteros like myself let this bother, there also is no universal morality, it doesnt bother me that two people of the same gender would wanna marry, I dont care if you and sapphocrat wanna marry, more power to ya, this is sad, another area in which the US is behind.

4. The solution in the meantime, for you and Sapphocrat,
if I may be so bold to say, is that she needs to go to your country. Because this country is not going to change any time soon, I'm afraid to say. It isn't right, and it is not just, but it is reality.

It is also none of my business. It's just my .02

I'm sorry for my country.
