Internet Tax
I thought I had read that there's nothing to worry about - there will be no Internet tax. Then I began hearing rumors that it's coming.

An article at http://www.kait8.com/Global/story.asp?S=1535080&nav=0jshJGFC claims that the federal government wants to extend a moratorium on Internet taxes, but the Governor of Arkansas is fighting it.

I would think the Republicans would be pushing for an Internet tax, both as a means of raking in more money and controlling the Internet. Of course, that might cost them a few votes, and there are many, many other strategies for silencing people who speak out online.

1. I don't have a problem with a tax per se
I think you should have to pay sales tax for items bought on the internet. Why should my state get revenue when I purchase something in a store but not through the net? That makes no sense to me.
