11. Oh god, please let Dean put that nasty boy emperor
in the worst possible light so that even the thickest freeper has to actually think for a change. And may Limbaugh have an inadequate spin the following day.

14. thanks
any info on how many of those however many thousand contributors were new vs existing ones ?

(I'm a Seahawk fan too. Looked like the might finally have a good year there for a while. Oh well... another underachieving season made all the worse because there were no more excuses personel wise.)

15. It means that they broke the intitial funding goal and have gone
over the top. This happens in the Dean campaign because of regular, caring voters and contributors.

It's amazing.

6. I can't wait for the biggest bat of all
the two million people contributing a hundred dollars each. If Dean gets the nom., I know I'll throw in my one or two or three hundred dollars to Dean.

12. actually, you'd have to do it before he becomes the official nominee
If you want to donate to Howard Dean, you have to do it before the Democratic Convention. After that, he's on public financing.

You can wait until it's obvious who the nominee is, though.

16. That's completely untrue.
Don't you remember his big internet poll about refusing public finanicing? I voted that he should forgo public money and after that a screen came up to ask for a pledge of 50-100 dollars if he should become the nominiee.

19. Eric J in MN is correct. The Dean campaign opted out during the primary
Edited on Sun Nov-23-03 10:41 PM by w4rma
to counter Bush who is raising more than $200 million during the primary.

Both Bush and Dean will accept federal matching funds for the general election (the final few months leading up to November)

You can donate a max of $2K before the nominee is chosen and a max $2K after.

20. that's not how I understood it
where can I go to look this up? Dean gave up matching funds so he wouldn't run out of money during the summer leading up to the general election .. which starts after the sept repup convention, I would suppose?

21. The pledge was non-binding
It was just to get some sort of idea of what to expect in the way of funds if the umbilical was cut. The idea was to pledge an amount equal to what you expect to give between now and convention time. HOW you gave (or even if you changed your mind later) was up to you.
