I don't understand why medicare is a problem for the domestic US policy
Edited on Mon Nov-24-03 08:52 AM by BonjourUSA
When 40 million of american people don't have any medical insurance this issue should be a national struggle.

1. It is simply mindboggling
It is beyond me why people in Southern and Midwestern states continue to send Republicans to National Office while their children are suffereing from a lack of health care and education.

4. Right Because They Believe Taxes Are THEFT...
As Grover Norquist remarked when Terry Gross said that the Estate Tax only applies to a few very wealthy individuals. "Well the Jews in Germany were a minority too." He thus equates Taxes and Genocide as many extreme republicans do.

3. You have to understand the nature of Empire and Imperials
Edited on Mon Nov-24-03 08:56 AM by tom_paine
For that, you need to look back to the Bourbons or perhaps Louis XVI.

The problem is, the Imperial Aristocracy respects the individual Imperial Amerikan Subject perhaps only a little more than Louis XVI. The only reason they cannot yet behave as they wish is the pesky 225 year traditions of the Old American Republic (born July 4th, 1776 died Dec. 12, 2000) are still so fresh in the minds of many.

The Busheviks must proceed slowly if they want to seize the prize undamaged. After all, this nation is bristling with arms and the one central tenet of it's character, as it was with the Roman Republic, is that it will never bow to a King.

So Imperial Power must be consolidated by other means, always paying lying lip service to the traditions of the Old American Republic by people who hate those traditions and want all the unchecked power and wealth for themselves.

How does this relate to medical care? Well, you know of the touching concern of Louis XVI and the Aristocracy for the peasants. You know that brutal monarchy is better served by an ill-educated, ill-informed, confused, tired, harroed, and hurried populace who lack the critical tools to understand what is happening to them, let alone to stand up against it.

The Busheviks don't want the peasants to have proper health care. Every peasant that receives proper healthcare takes awau from Rich People's Health Care.

Perhaps you cannot understand, being a member of the Free World which Imperial Amerika has so recently left. Guard your freedoms, BonjourUSA, for unscrupulous men in every nation, including yours, are watching events here in the Empire and calculating just how easily it would be for them to do the same in their nations.

Just as the 1990s saw an expansion of democracy after the American model, so shall the 21st Century see an expansion on Neo-Totalitarianism after the Amerikan model.

Guard your liberty, BonjourUSA and remember that the most dangerous thought you can have is "It can't happen here."

As the destruction of the Old American Republic shows...it can happen anywhere and at any time!

9. You're so lucky you live in France
Most European countries still have a healthy democracy. This administration, like tom paine said, has reverted back to the a time when there was only a ruling class and everyone else.

11. Would that we were done transitioning, RationalRose
Edited on Mon Nov-24-03 11:11 AM by tom_paine
(if this were the ultimate phase of Bushevik machinations, rather than the leading edge of the penultimate phase, this wouldn't be so awful...life is still pretty good and mostly free for us "little people")

Unfortunately, the effects of Bushevik polcies have yet to truly be felt. We are still, IMHO, "living off the fumes" in the gas tank of the Old Republic.

While our Ruling Class has reverted in their minds, even THEY are NOTHING compared to their diagraceful Caligul-ish gandchildren, and of course they must observe all the forms of the Old Republic until it no longer becomes necessary...perhaps during the reign of Emperor Ahnold, perhaps sooner.

I hate to sound depressing and I am by no means giving up but these are very likely "The Good Old Days". Our great-granchlidren will look back at us with envy and scorn at what we had and how quickly we allowed it to be taken away.

And as I told BonjourUSA above, I think unscrupulous European Neo-Totalitarians will be watching very carefully the events in the Amerikan Empire, in order to guage whether or not to attempt it in their nations.

Brits better nip this in the bud or they're going to be in the same shape we're in before they know it.
