Did DU Have A Hand In Helping You Select Which Candidate To Support?
If DU were not around, do you think you'd still be supporting the same candidate that you do now?

Or do you think that other DUers have had no impact whatsoever in your selection of a candidate to pull for.

Since I haven't officially gotten behind a candidate yet (and it looks ever more clear that I'm not going to anytime soon) I can't answer this. But I will say that DU has definately helped me steer clear of candidates like Gephardt and Lieberman. Gephardt especially.

But what about you. Has DU helped you pick a candidate yet, or at least, narrowed down the field of options for you?

Or were you stuck on Candidate X, no matter how often you visit DU and whatever the predominant opinion here is.

1. I think DU may have introduced me to Dean much earlier
than I might have otherwise found him.

However, there's not much that happens here at DU -- or that I can imagine happening -- that would change my mind.

2. nope
I would be a dean supporter regsardless of DU. DU makes me wish I weren't even eligible to vote.

3. Somewhat
I learned some stuff about Kerry at DU, at first I was leaning heavily in Edwards corner, and I still like Edwards but I switched to Kerry as my number one the more I learned.

4. Yes and no
I am still largely supporting the person I was several months ago when I first started posting in serious here. But I have taken other candidates more seriously than I did before, particularly Kunicich. And of course the Campaign season is not over yet.

6. Yes, but...
it was more because of the lame ass arguements against the candidate I chose than the discussions in favor of him.

7. D'uh!
Absa-friggin-lutely. Not posters' opinions much, but links to issues that opened my eyes -- largely about the war and what Bush is all about. Those led me to want a certain kind of candidate.

8. No
I'm learning a lot about the candidates here at DU, but my choice was set as soon as Clark announced.

9. No.
I saw Gephardt on a debate earlier this year, and I fell in love with him.

How many DUers like Gephardt? WEll, I'm sure there are a few, are there not?

12. Sadly...
I prefer a few others, but I've given sympathy votes to Gephardt, Sharpton, and Mosley-Braun in some poll so that they wouldn't be behind Lieberbush...

10. No, I was watching Clark long before he was drafted to run.....
But it's fun to share enthousiasms and to see other viewpoints here on DU!

13. In a very odd way, my support for Kerry came from
DU. During the midterm elections, there was one poster on DU who trashed Kerry day after day, saying some really sickening, CT type stuff. I defended Kerry because he's my Senator and I thought he was a good guy, plus this poster's information was not credible.

Anyway, while defending Kerry, I learned a lot more about him (off DU) and I decided to support him. Other than BLM and the infrequent appearances by Chris Heinz there is nothing on DU that would encourage me to continue to support him. However, I do.

14. No
I chose Clark after listening to him speak and reading many of the things he had written linked from the Draft Clark site.

15. No, I did my own evaluation
I changed my mind a multitude of times and have decided to support Clark. If he does not get the nomination, I will whole heartedly support the Dem who does.
