Restaurant owner to run for secretary of state

OLYMPIA - Seattle restaurant owner Andy Stephenson announced this week he will run for secretary of state next year.

Stephenson, a Democrat has spent more than a year helping to research and expose security flaws in eletronic voting systems. He said he decided to enter the race largely to combat the proliferation of paperless voting machines.

The co-owner of a Subway franchise in Seattle will face state representative Laura Ruderman in next year's primary election. The winner will likely face incumbent Sam Reed, a Republican.

A few weeks ago I had a meeting at the Congress and met Nancy Pelosi.

It was a group meeting so i only had as moment to say, in my most deep, menacing and supportive voice: "Give Bush HELL!"

Her eyes sparkled as she looked up into my eyes (she's a tiny thing and I'm huge/tall and hirsute) and she just paused for a moment and patted me on the front of my shoulder/chest twice. Kinda like a football coach or something (cheerleader, maybe) but very sisterly. Like a reassuring gesture of "THANKS, Big Boy, We Will"

Anyway -- that's what I want to say to you: Give 'em HELL! Andy.

We're all proud of you.

(Hey weren't you once BANNED from here? - it just goes to show ya...what talent we have here at DU and how sometimes it is underappreciated. I can just see one day some kid like John Kleeb running for President one day or LPFF (Left People Finish First) and blaming it all on DU and inspirational people like YOU!)
