What % will the Libertarians get in 2004?
Edited on Wed Nov-26-03 09:20 PM by bluestateguy
I can actually see a scenario where the Libertarians get 1%-1.5% in next year's election. Why? Small government conservatives upset with the exponential growth in spending in this Administration. The neo-con foreign policy, which Libertarians hate. The 87 billion. The Medicare drug bill. The Patriot Act and other Big Brother initiatives. I could really see the Libertarians getting about the same percentage as the Greens next year, thus making third party candidacies a wash.

3. they're not about zero income tax
I think your problems are more in what they view as the role of government which, of course, impacts the amount of taxes.

7. yes, some are for zero tax. some dems are socialists
some republicans are OK with slavery. There is always a fringe. But the party itself does not promote no-taxes.

5. The one thing I like about them
They are generally consistent. I mean the Republicans claim to be for small non-intrusive government, but then are also in favor of monitoring who sleeps with whom. There are similar inconsistancies on the Democratic side, as we are all aware. Libetarians are consistant and relitively easy to understand.

8. Doubt It
Reagan increased the size of government. The Libertarian Party existed in the 1980s, too.
