OMG, I just found Clinton's Farewell Address from the Oval Office |
|
as I was organizing my tapes....
He was talking about erasing the deficit within the decade, tax relief, and meeting the obligations of the baby boomers if we continued along the right path.
Then, he commented on how our "alliances have never been stronger."
It was awful. I had to turn it off. It was like watching something from a time vault...
How sad. All the good things that were possible before Bush came in to wreck it all....

Yes, it is a sad thing... a deep, ineffable sadness...
like remembering what you wanted to be as a kid and realizing how your dreams evolved into a few "options" and finally into your "job"...sigh.

It is like finding a tape about cars being the wave of the future in a world filled with smog that has blotted out the sun... Clinton... my sun shine, my only sun shine... okay, not quite, but you get the idea.
