The Issue With *'s Visit
Peter Jennings just spent 5 minutes trying to tell me that, nono, it's ok that * lied to the American people because, hey, it's been done before!

He cited FDR and Yalta. You know...conferences that shaped future Europe.

Kinda important.

He also cited *'s pappy's secret meetings in 1986 with Jordan and Iraq to get them to buy US weapons to attack Iran.

So now * can just go ahead and mislead the American people about a PR stunt...what's next? Hmm? And the press corps went along with it.

At the very least it was an incredibly stupid idea to begin with.

But of course, we know it was just a PR stunt. We know he doesn't give a sh*t about the troops. He's done enough harm to them that his showing up is a slap in their face, not a nice way to thank them.

If he really cared about the troops, he'd give them medical supplies.
If he really cared about the troops, he wouldn't have them paying for meals.
If he really cared about the troops, he'd tell them when they could go home and see their families, who they wanna see way more than *.
If he really cared about the troops, he wouldn't cut their pay.
If he really cared about the troops, he'd actually spend more than 2.5 hours on the ground there- and it really says a lot, doesn't it?

Think about all the secrecy. The security. The lies.

But what happened to mission accomplished? And didn't * say they were "just a few thugs"? But yet these few thugs compelled the leader of the free world to use lies and total secrecy to make his PR visit as quick as he could possibly make it, all in the safe confines of the most heavily armed airport on the face of the planet.

It's truly awe-inspiring to witness the sheer lies and stupidity, isn't it?

But are we suprised?

1. Lies are A-ok
for these pukes. They can do whatever they want and get away with it. They found that out during election 2000 and now are doing what they want anytime anywhere because no one's making them stop..They know it's all lip service. They're a disgrace to what's left of this country.

7. Amazing what a Bush will do to stop a Clinton from getting good PR!
I think that outside his "flying" the two seater jets in the 70's, this is the bravest he has been!

2. Lies are just fine
be sure to teach your children that. Lies are OK to save yourself or to get what you want. If you teach your children that, using the Bush family as the model, they are sure to be successful in life, meaning that they will be able to accumulate lots and lots of money. That is all that is important--that they get rich and successful, after all. Right?

3. Good points
But the subterfuge about his travel plans don't bother me. It's that he'd travel thousands of miles for a free meal, but can't be bothered to make a 5 minute stop at a memorial service a car ride away.

5. the defense bill just signed
The defense bill just signed does include a salary increase for the troops.

It also authorizes research into low-yield nuclear weapons, and loosens the process of awarding contracts.

6. And just think
If he hadn't cut the troops pay, think of how much they would be getting then?

Nobody deserves the cash more.
