Year after year the holiday season herds cutthroat madmax consumers in malls and stores. Two consumers enter one leaves with DVD player. What does this have to do with politics? Almost everything Karl Rove knows the average humanoid is too busy fighting for their lives in the malls to pay attention to the realities of current events. The products in the malls have everything to do with marketing and packaging. Karl Rove has turned the Whitehouse into the political Wall mart, mass-producing political products. I need some SOMA to help me cope in this BRAVE NEW WORLD.

A US store chain has apologised to a woman knocked unconscious as shoppers rushed for a sale of DVD players.

The 41-year-old had been first in the queue when the post-Thanksgiving sale opened at 6am local time on Friday.

"She got pushed down, and they walked over her like a herd of elephants," said her sister, Linda Ellzey.

Paramedics called to the store found VanLester unconscious on top of a DVD player, surrounded by shoppers seemingly oblivious to her, Mark O'Keefe, a spokesman for EVAC Ambulance, told Associated Press.

Not to be insensative, but what the hell was she doing at a 6am shopping rush to Walmart? What, the lack of wages/union/overtime/decent conditions weren't enough to drive her away? I'm not overly sympathetic to her plight, sorry.

No wonder she got trampled, the rest of those people at 6am don't give a damn about humanity either probably, just a cheap buck.
