Local Democrats may favor Kucinich, Dean
By STAFF REPORTS

HAYWARD -- If a poll conducted by a group of local Democrats is any indication of the campaign for the Democratic Party presidential nomination, Dennis Kucinich and Howard Dean will slug it out for the party's nod.

More than 100 Democrats gathered in Hayward on Friday to hear volunteers from five Democratic candidates discuss their positions on various issues and take part in a sample ballot poll.

Representatives for Kucinich, Dean, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, ret. Gen Wesley Clark and North Carolina Sen. John Edwards spoke about prescription drugs, poverty, the USA Patriot Act and what the candidates would do to fix the budget, among other topics.

<snip>

Kucinich, a congressman from Ohio, and Dean, former governor of Vermont, separated themselves from the pack with 194 and 174 points, respectively. Kerry had 107 points and the rest fewer than 50.

1. That's what I've thought of Dennis all along
When he's able to "take it to the people", he has the right fire.

2. Interesting what happens on a more level field
Dean, Kerry and Kucinich are the best candidates, after all.

3. Without a doubt
and the independent polls reflect this. I'm totally dismissing the media-driven polls- they're totally freeped and would have us crowning Ceasar right now.

Check this one out: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/special/president/quickvote/vote.1.html

Now is that some serious BS or what? You really have to wonder how stupid some people think we are! 91%? Give me an effin break!

6. That totally rocks!
Thanks for the great news!

Today, Kucinich released this statement:

"In a democracy where already half the people don't vote and where the last presidential election was decided by the Supreme Court, we cannot tolerate flawed voting equipment or intimidation of those who point out the flaws. Diebold backing down from its intimidation campaign is a positive step. An open and honest examination of the flaws in electronic voting will lead us to only one possible conclusion: electronic voting machines are dangerous to democracy because there is no way of ensuring their accuracy. We need to have a voter-verified paper trial for every election so that any errors and irregularities caused by the voting machines can be discovered."

7. I really do like Kucinich
a lot. He is the underdog--Lieberman and Gebhart are the losers. Kucinich is a wonderful candidate. He does not have the money but that does not stop him. I love this guy

8. I have no fears for him
He's doing exceptionally well on the POTUS Poll http://www.potuspoll.com/ and is the only candidate www.democrats.com are endorsing.

Ah what the media doesn't want us to know!
