2. This is familiar.
Hitler did the same thing in Germany. Soon they didn't meet at all. I have the flu and am feeling really awful right now or I would post more with references, but I can't. I'm just feeling too awful. Maybe someone else will. There was a systematic depletion of the state's powers too until they didn't have any say in what Berlin ordered.

3. Ahh yes...if ya can't handle democracy

you just do away with it...slowly, in increments...why even vote? This freaks me out...a big state like Cali getting rid of the legislature? The repukes are pushing it here. They better be careful. It could be 1776 all over again. The Boston Tea Party, where Arnold's crap movies are thrown into the San Fan Bay. And his slimey ass is dethroned!

4. I don't think this will be very popular after the fires
and I don't think the majority of the business community will stand for it. I think Arnie is going to set himself up for a fall on this one.

5. Another example of why the California referendum process in flawed
Representative Democracy vs. Direct Democracy argument. Since no one is paying attention, how can you have 10 direct referendums on each ballot and expect a state (or nation) to survive?

6. Could be wrong, but I doubt this will ever make it to the ballot.
If it does, I doubt it would pass. This bond fiasco is going to be a huge struggle for them, I doubt they'll have any energy left over for more shenanigans. :)

7. Is that threat?
I don't think that is the right solution to the mess in California. He is sounding like Bush already - demanding. This is obviously a matter of great importance that should be debated in California.

10. It would require 2/3 to pass as a constitutional change
to the state constitution. It won't get more than 60 percent if the vote is taken during a primary cycle in an off year with free reefer and cheetos to all the hippies to keep them away from the polls.

12. Link?
They're trying to qualify the $15 billion bond measure for the March ballot but this is the first I've heard of this. Btw, the bond measure is gridlocked as the Republicans want a 20-year bond measure and the Democrats want it to be a 7-year.
