Army has denied rape victim counseling, says mom

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/150894_rape03ww.html

A Stryker brigade soldier from Fort Lewis who said she was raped in Kuwait has told her mother that the Army has isolated her from her unit and denied her counseling and other support, including a visit from a chaplain.

-snip-

"She's traumatized," Wharton said. "She's not good, but at least I got to hear her voice," Wharton told the paper. "She's not eating. She's not sleeping. She has no contact, really, with anybody."

-snip-

Wharton said her daughter, a four-year veteran who joined the Army at 19, told her she was near the camp showers late Friday or early Saturday when a masked man with "an American voice" hit her in the back of the head.

When she regained consciousness, she said, she was gagged and bound with cord, then was hit in the head and face again and blacked out a second time, her mother said.
-snip-
------------------------------

her mother also said "She said she was still bleeding from the attack Tuesday"

so this is how the US Army Medical people take care of women?

the US Army stinks.

2. it is un-American to report being raped by a soldier
it weakens our resolve and gives comfort and encouragement to our enemy, leaving us vunerable for another terra-ist attack. It gives pause to our friends and hope to the terra-ists, blah blah blah

:puke:

4. shame
why you would want to be a woman in our armed services is beyond me. If I were a woman I would be scared to death of being in a unit full of ex-high school football players, cause you know how those guys are. Read: Date Rape.
Now I know the vast majority of our armed servicemen and women are honorable and honest. But if I were a woman, i wouldn't even consider it an option. And if I did get raped, I'd cut his member off with my Marine sword.
