Does anyone share this concern?

Watching how the Republicans are tearing down the New Deal and packing the courts I have this feeling that they are putting a very strong protective wall around the privileged. If you examine the Bush nominees for the court you will find a reoccurring propensity for protection of the privileged. Most of the legislation going through congress is intended to enhance the positions of the privileged.

I keep thinking of the Fulton College Speech by Churchill and thinking that if you change the political philosophy that Churchill was speaking of it is very apropos for what is occurring today.

1. I Would Hope Your Observation Is Obvious To All
The wealthy are preparing for the fall.

The rest of us will be left to fight over the table scraps.

Inevitably this will lead to a revolution.

2. All of our hard-earned tax dollars are certainly going to the privileged.
Numbnuts is working very hard to protect the wealth of the wealthy. And to enrich his megabucks buddies. Who to hell is getting all the contracts to "rebuild" Iraq? (I know you know.) And I just read tonight that none of the bidded contracts (oh! there are going to be those????) will go to countries that opposed the war. This is the buddy system gone mad.

5. You mean the expressly articulated Norquist doctrine?
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 10:49 PM by Capn Sunshine
Basically , remove all of the social programs of the 20th century.
Most admire historical America to Grover? The Mc Kinley administration, the time of the robber barrons. Study that period well; THAT is what the conservatives want to return us to.

It's no accident Norquist wants to remove FDR from our money and replace it with Reagan.

6. Arm yourselves
Buy a good military bolt action or semi-automatic rifle, at least a thousand rounds of ammunition, and practice. Work for the best, but always prepare for the worst.
