God(s) Bless Robert Reich... |
|
So I was listening to Marketplace Morning Report on NPR (89.5 FM) on my way to work this morning, and they had a piece by Robert Reich (former Clinton Labor Sec'y), who does a column for them called The People's Business. He was talking about how the falling dollar discouraged foreign investment in the U.S. and how we needed foreign investors to purchase $1.5 billion each day in order for our currency to remain stable. And this is how he ended his piece: "But they're not doing that. Why? Because we're spending like a drunken sailor. And anyway...who wants to trust their money to a drunk?"
Beautiful slam at Bush. I was in awe.

shamelessly. Rummies, all of them, spending (our tax money) like "drunken sailors."

Modern day pirates like Enron and Anderson, Cheney and Halliburton, are all the rage! It is illegal to take a gun into a bank and remove money from it, but do it with a pen and piece of paper and you'll be seen as a hero.
