45. Itz better than great
First of all...is it true? I haven't seen an article yet. But let's say it is. Madonna, while I'm not exactly an avid fan...is a huge star and many non-political types might sit up and take notice where maybe before they wouldn't. Maybe a few dozen register to vote. Maybe a few dozen get engaged where they weren't engaged before.

Plus, this dims the wattage of Al Bore's premature ejac from last week.

He is always ranting and raving about media moraility and hollywood and all that.

Which is one of the reasons I do not like him very much.

21. Jeesh, cuz she has one of the most recognizable names in the world.
Whether you like it or not, she is one of the most known people in the world. Her endorsement is a valuable one. Don't come here just to start flame wars. Support your candidate until the primaries, then the nominee. When you come here and say stuff like that you only cause problems and alienate potential voters. Divide and conquer, just like Uncle Karl wants you to do.

32. It's cool and all...
... but you're wrong to say it's a valuable endorsement. I highly doubt that ANYBODY votes based on who Madonna endorses. This isn't a flame, merely a statement of the facts.

Now if you can show me someone who DOES then by all means, I lose and you win, but I'm not anticipating that happening.

46. Actually, it means a lot
I can tell you for a fact, living in California, there are many many many people who voted for Arnold because he was Arnold. That is one degree away from voting for someone Arnold endorses. Star Power carries more weight outside political circles than you might think.

72. Bingo
1) Million dollar fundraiser(s).

2) Publicity galore. Perhaps the "at least you spelled my name right" type of media play. But better than being ignored.

3) Access to some of the most sophisticated marketing and production facilities in the world. Access to a woman who is no slouch when it comes to reading the public.

4) A lot of folks hate Madonna. But a lot of them like her, too.

5) You get a "cool" factor that competes favorably with the "geek swimming in Taco Bell wrappers" image of the Dean campaign.

Haven't you guys heard? Madonna is a hot mamma and author of children's books now. Totally respectable. Well, almost totally.

I'm happy if she's throwing million dollar fundraisers for him.

Also adds a little luster to his own stars so to speak. Most Generals don't get major pop star backing. Madonna certainly knows people with money, and having taken the step of endorcing Clark, she will probably try to help him connect with more money.

by doing commercials for them it means very little that she is endorsing Clark at this point she has lost all credibility by doing a commercial for the gap.
