I'm really tight right now over finances (we're trying to buy a house), but I contributed...

I am also planning a Meetup for Maryland's Eastern Shore for next Wednesday. Anyone in the area, DU mail me and I'll send you the details.

15. Guesses
The secret is:

1) Micahel Moore produced TV commercial
2) Sponsorship of a NASCAR stock car
3) Free "Dean for American" tatoos for anybody who wants one.

5. Will someone again, please, tell me how Dean is un-electable.
The significant part of this is, not the amount (which is impressive) but the number of donors. Cheney was supposed to collect $250,000 from 125 donors. Dean puts out a call to match it and will probably get a half mill from 10,000 donors. This is so sweet.

I've been paying attention to this all day and how anyone can say this guy isn't electable is beyond me. It's probably a safe bet that he has support that hasn't donated because they haven't made their final decision yet, that's the category I fall in. All I can say is Go Doctor Dean!

14. i'm in the same category
Dean supporter VERY strapped for funds who hasn't donated yet. I'm planning on a big donation (at least for me) of 1,000 to the dem candidate, who ever it may be, would love it to be howard, just holding out for the nomination, but whoever the nominee is gets it.

19. undecided and donation question
probably a safe bet that he has support that hasn't donated because they haven't made their final decision yet

yup, that was me until 1/2 hour ago. I was mostly undecided and saving my donatin' money for the general election. but between Dean speaking out on the war and the mo' of this grass roots fund raising I figured what the heck, might as well start now...

the $2000 dollar limit is per year, right? so someone can donate $2K after the first of next year no matter what they donate this year???

$2000 for the primaries and $2000 for the general...hopefully someone that knows for sure will answer you.

24. Yes
That is correct. It is a $2,000 limit per election. The primary counts as one election, and the general counts as one election. I'm certain of it.

As a matter of fact, you could send Dean two checks right now for $2,000 each and mark one "primary" and the other "general."

Now has a stake in the Dean campaign. I think only a few would fail to vote thus not backing their investment.

18. I'd already contributed several times
but just now gave $50. Curious to see just how HIGH we can get up that 2nd bat. If it makes the evening news today, there could be a real swell of contributors tonight.

And gave $50 today to Kucinich too. His message needs to be heard.

23. He got plenty of press on the first one....
He needs to get plenty off of this one too. I'll be checking to see if the whoring press say a word about Dean and his ability to raise funds from the working class who have had enough of Bush/Cheney and their shit.

28. I gave...
50 bucs, and gave 50 before and will do it again. I will support whoever gets the nomination but I hope it's the doctor. He and Graham are smart and courageous. Each would crush Dubya in a debate. I think there is a sense of urgency. If the cheap labor conservatives prevail again, the country is f--cked, perhaps for good. .....
