UK newsnight (BBC) features Dean
Probably the 2nd most important news programme in the UK (after Today on Radio 4) just did a huge feature on Dean (over 10 minutes). Interviewed Dean, his campaign director etc. Pretty surprising - as far as I know, this is the first major feature regarding the 2004 election I've seen in Britain.

They did feature the other candidates, but only for a few minutes.

Quote: "In Europe, Dean's policies would be strictly middle-of-the-road, but in George Bush's America, 'liberal' is strictly a term of abuse"

3. Good quote
Quote: "In Europe, Dean's policies would be strictly middle-of-the-road, but in George Bush's America, 'liberal' is strictly a term of abuse"

Sadly, this quote pretty much sums up where liberals stand in today's American politics.

4. Thanks for the "heads up", tinnypriv!
To me "liberal is not a term of abuse"...the liars hijacked the word and tried to give a it dirty connotation over and over and over again!

But they can't change the meaning in the dictionary!

"liberal
/"lbr()l/ adjective 1 abundant. 2 giving freely; generous. 3 open-minded. 4 not rigorous. 5 (of studies) for general broadening of mind. 6 Politics favouring moderate reforms. noun person of liberal views, esp. (Liberal) member of a Liberal Party. Liberal Democrat member of Liberal Democrats, UK political party. liberalism noun. liberality /-"rl-/ noun. liberally adverb.".. :kick: I rest my case!

And I think maybe Dean does even out to be in the middle ...so be it! I like him! :D
