I just witnessed a "Dem" blast the Dem candidates and then say that, I almost puked, Bush had restored "Dignity" to the WH.

Yes this was taped on August 8th (or 3rd) of this year, so she may have had an epiphany since then, but holy smokes I couldn't believe it.

So she's a Feminist yes? And a Dem (She said it, not me. The linked article says "a self-proclaimed "Democratic libertarian" but in the C-SPAN Booknotes piece she said "I'm a Democrat" not any particular flavor but "I'm a Democrat".) too?

Well she slammed Kerry for protesting against the Vietnam War and then called the candidates the "Twelve Dwarfs". Somehow suggesting that Bush will save us all and they're powerless to do so.

Here's a Salon.com abstract to an interview with her prior to the Invasion... http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2003/02/07/paglia/index_np.html

Geez. With friends like that...

1. Well, she's a little too right-wing and authoritarian for my taste
and I usually don't identify that with being a Democrat or a Feminist.

She usually takes an opposing position - I guess that sells books and air time.

I can't think of anything she's said in the last 8 years that made any sense to me and I consider myself a Democrat and a Feminist.

3. So she's a Democrat today, is she?
It really depends on what personality is in control when she wakes up that day and, of course, that's subject to change as the day wears on. Her doctor needs to adjust her meds. Maybe he can do something about the public appearances, too.

26. Brilliant and blatently bi-polar
My guess is that she absent-mindedly forgets to take her medications about half the time, and you never know whether a day is a together day or MANICTIME!

I dated a woman that was in that category. For two weeks everything would be fine, the it's time to completely redecorate the house for 72 straight hours.

Tip for the day: I don't care how cute they are, if they aren't disciplined enough to keep a pill organizer, RUN!

She's a useless publicity hound who has had her 15 minutes and is now dying a very slow death as a shallow celebrity intellectual.

6. Did she say she's a Democrat or a feminist? She got started

Did she say she's a Democrat or a feminist?

Camille Paglia started her tv appearances as an anti-feminist.

One of Camille Paglia's theories is that the date-rape problem is exaggerated, because women who say they were date-raped were often drinking beforehand and so they were asking for trouble.

(I don't agree with that theory).

11. Paglia is a "weird bird." I almost put her with "Tweety" (Matthews) in
that she "goes with the breeze" to keep her job...in her case her professorial credentials.

She was "interesting" to read in the "Old Salon" days..where she brought some kinky thoughts to the table of discussion. But, since "Old Salon" I've moved on and she seems to have moved on to the right with great speed, so I have to say I've not read her in about two years.

21. There's a few of those babes around who claim to
to be Democrats. Another one is Tammy Bruce who was once the president of the Los Angeles chapter of NOW. She is also buddy, buddy with Ann Coulter, who she claims speaks the truth unlike Hillary Clinton who in her mind is a liar. This is a Democrat? With associates like this who needs enemies. We will be destroyed from within.

22. She likes to call herself whatever she is criticizing.
Calls herself a feminist, tears into traditional feminists like Steinem and Abzug.

Calls herself a Clinton supporter, then tears into him.

Calls herself a lesbian, then tears into lesbians.

So she's calling herself a Dem, now, eh?

Ad infinitum.
