What? No Jacko on 60 minutes thread?
I am quite surprised. Am I the only one who watches 60 minutes?

1. I heard him say he was man-handled by the cops for 45 minutes
Edited on Sun Dec-28-03 11:42 PM by mot78
except for the fact that wasn't in jail that long.

2. I am amazed that his lawyer let him do that interview...
Must be quite desperate to do this IMO...

8. I find that hard to believe
Considering his celebrity status and the massive media coverage of this, I can't believe that the police wouldn't be on their best behavior.

4. Some observations.
I believe he had much heavier make-up on than I have seen him wear before.

I was not surprised about the bruising of the arms. He was raising his arms behind his back in a lot of the clips shown on television. Not saying he did it to himself but there was a lot of movement on his part.

I find it hard to believe about the bathroom incident. Feces on the wall, sink, floor? I can't believe they locked him in a bathroom for forty-five minutes. Where was his lawyer during all of this? Was he even at the jail that long?

I think his lawyer should have prepared him better for the interview. He seemed a bit medicated. Just an opinion.

5. I think it's the lawyer who was on medication.
That interview didn't do any good to him. Doesn't matter if guilty or not.

15. Jackson's make-up
I don't know how many are aware that Jackson had his make-up tattooed on many years ago. Lipstick, eyeliner, cheek color, etc. My sister had the same thing done.

9. When He Said He'd Let His Children
sleep in a bed with a 45 year old man, I laughed my ass off. These are children who can't go outside with out wearing Burka's.

18. He sounds exactly like someone from NAMBLA.
Note that not once did he mention ever asking the kid how he felt about it.

And I thought it was horribly telling when he said that he slept in beds with adult males throughout his childhood.

22. Is there anyone who genuinely cares about him? S/he should
do everything possible to get him the psychological care he appears to need more than anything.

11. I think Jacko...
...confused a holding cell with the bathroom. When the cops are finished processing you after an arrest, they usually toss you into a small holding cell until the paper work is completed and you're ready to be sprung. Michael probably thought he was in the bathroom since holding cells contain toilets. Holding cells can also be quite nasty hygiene-wise. Either way, 45 minutes is not that long a time to wait. Your average arrestee spends far longer being processed.

13. I thought the interview was necessary
to try and win over public opinion, which is even more important in his case, since so much of it is about perception.

16. Too creepy to watch
I find myself not hearing him, just staring at his nose waiting for it to plop off in his lap. Then a bunch of his handlers will rush out with a cocking gun and slap it back on.

Really I don't need to see that.

17. MJ is going to own that city
I would not like to be the DA or Chief of Police today. After that interview, the DA/Chief of Police will know they will be looking for a new country to live in IF they do not win in Court

1) A couple interesting point from the interview, MJ has 100 people working at Neverland, and a lot of security.

2) 80 Police were in his "bedroom". HOW BIG is the "bedroom" and "bed"?

from the BBC story http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3353631.stm

BBC correspondent Robert Nisbet said the interview may have persuaded Jackson's wavering fans to support the troubled pop star.

"We were sitting with a psychiatrist who is normally very critical about Michael Jackson's behaviour, but she said that for some people who may be sitting on the fence, maybe some fans of his music, he may have been convincing.

19. "May"? Now there's a ringing endorsement.
The essence of an accomplished molester is the act, the perfected act he uses to sell himself to his victims. Not that Michael sees them as victims. But, please, the Face of God????

Would any of you out there allow your kids to go with someone who described them like that? They aren't individuals to him. Any of them still his pals after they pass his age of interest? Has Michael gone to any college graduations of these kids? Nuh uh. He doesn't see people, he sees objects. Objects of lust? Love? Adoration? Whatever. They are still OBJECTS.

And every moment of Michael's adult life is geared to attracting and collecting these objects..

He named both sons Prince Michael? He's allowing them no personal identity whatsoever.

20. Michaels faux pax
I didn't see the show, but my brother called me after the interview, and caught Michael's mistake, after he said it hurt him to raise is arms, didn't stop him from touching his hair, clearly and unconscious movement on his part.

23. Hundreds at DU signing a Pledge...
never to discuss Jacko unless it is newsworthy? (I doubt Jacko will ever be newsworthy or discuss and any reporting could be posted in LBN)

In fact Skinner posted a memo on the subject...ergo why no Jacko thread about him wasting network time on 60 minutes...

And you want to know something...I have NOT missed them since they're removal...

26. I often watch 60 Minutes, but...
When the promos came on for the Jacko interview I turned the tv off. I hope justice is done in this case, for sure...but I am simply not interested in any of the details ..the accusations OR defense rebuttals OR Mr. Jackson's take on things. He's a wonderful performer and I'll happily watch him do his theatrical thing...but this stuff...NO THANKS!!!!

27. I think the harrassment allegations make it newsworthy.
Police harrassment is not a popular subject in Pax Bushiana, but it is alive and well.

28. Dislocated shoulder?
I know someone who recently got a shoulder fracture and the individual is in a shoulder harness for a while, and the damn thing is confining.

If Jacko really got his shoulder whacked, why wasn't he wearing a harness? I was trying to figure out while looking at the interview which shoulder got whacked.
