The Damped Sinusoidal Bush Ratings Bounce... |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 03:42 PM by TruthIsAll
.....Date....Bush Bounce 1: Sep '01...40%..9/11, but did we get Osama? NO 2: May '03...20%..Iraq invasion - mission accomplished? NO 3: Dec '03....7%..Saddam captured - insurgents defeated? NO
Three strikes and you're out, Chimp.
Like a damped sine wave, Bush has seen his ratings bounce approach zero. That's an asymptotic fact. His next bounce will be a last gasp 2% (or maybe less).
With the ongoing 9/11 coverup, Plame leak, madcowGate, plunging dollar, jobless recovery, exploding deficits, disgruntled troops, Bush can no longer expect a ratings bounce of any significance.
Even another LIHOP won't do it for him. But Diebold might. Or maybe we will see Martial Law. You say you want a revolution?
We are about to see the final descent of the BushCo roller coaster, bringing him and his cohorts to a final, screeching stop.
We will then have to pull him out of his seat, kicking and screaming, if need be.

1. There are Fewer Undecideds |
|
I saw that Bush has fewer supporters among Democrats now that Bill Clinton ever had among Republicans. Fewer and fewer people are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. That is very good news.

I judge public opinion based on metrics plus my own intuition and I've been wondering for weeks if there was a technical term for the phenomena you mentioned.
"Sinusoidal dampening" it's called?
I'd go a little further, actually. If there's another major incident, terrorist or combat-related or whatever, unless it's absolutely without question good news (capturing bin Laden is the only thing I can think of), Bush's next "bounce" is NEGATIVE.

5. he's saying it's like a ball bouncing |
|
evey bounce, potential energy is lost and never regained. The ball bounces lower and lower each bounce and eventually stops.

6. I'm out here in Nebraska... |
|
and the most telling thing I have noticed is NO ONE is talking bush up. In fact, the silence is deafening in the GOP court.
If NE is no longer openly supporting bush, you can bet that the rest of the nation is pretty well disgusted with him too.

9. But, bounces aren't as powerful |
|
as the general trend, which still seems to be pointing down.
