Department of Homeland Security Cracks down on Broward! |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-01-04 02:45 PM by teknomanzer
Okay so I was just cleaning up around my apartment when I decided to sit down and check out an article in one of the local independent rags. Apparently the department of homeland security is keeping America safe from terrorists (let us not forget we are under orange alert status) by confiscating bongs, pipes, and other smoking accessaries from local shops. We all know what a big stoner Osama must have been. I imagine those terrorists will now be unable to work up the nerve to drive a truckload of explosives into the nearest Wal-Mart without taking a couple of bong hits first.
In all seriousness there a several things that bother me about this situation, and it has nothing to do with me not being able find a descent bong around town. When I comes to building smoking accessories I make Mcguyver look like that chimp using a blade of grass catch termites for a quick snack. I am a real outhouse engineer. I have no need for a $300 color changing glass pipe.
What bothers me about this is the fact that it demonstrates the end of our constitutional rights. That is right folks. The federal government can just waltz right into your establishment and confiscate what ever they want. What is to stop them from knocking on your door and asking to see if you have any contraband around your domicile? Nothing. You know what else bothers me about it? The fact that not a single proprietor objected or protested this most illegal act. Every single one of them took it lying down like helpless little bitches. They are afraid of their government. Ladies and gentleman, if you are afraid of your government chances are you are living under tyranny.
This also proves that The Department of Homeland Security is just another instrument used to oppress the American people. Obviously it is not being used to defend us from acts of terrorism. Quite the contrary in fact it is being used to instill terror in the American people with their ridiculous and meaningless terror alerts. The government wants to keep us in a perpetual state of fear so that no one will question their authority. While we are all left shaking in our boots they will continue to rob, rape and pillage so they can fill their offshore bank accounts. We are to scared of the boogie man to ask exactly what they hell this gang of thieves is really up to. Its all part of the plan. Why confiscate bongs? Because people use them to have fun, and people just are not fearful when they are having fun. And Bush, Ashcroft and the rest of these evil fundamentalist wacko nutcases can't have that while they are trying so hard to scare the shit out of you.
And lets not forget that there are REAL terrorists looking to do us harm, but the Department of Homeland Security would rather allocate resources to locating head shops and confiscating bongs. Now don't you feel safer?
In closing I would just like to say fuck you very much, Bush, Ashcroft, Ridge, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Pearl and the rest for dragging us out of a time of optimism and prosperity, and dumping us into an age of fear and hopelessness. I hope you all get cancer of the eyes and your prostates fall right of your asses. To all my volks at DU all my love :)

3. Not me... I just cruel enough to hope |
|
that karma, fate, Nemisis, God, or whatever force it is that contols such things, gives them exactly what they deserve.
It's very rare that I wish that on anyone; mostly what we desrerve is certainly not what we want.

4. My wish for the bush administration is: |
|
May all their dreams come true.
that includes those horrific dreams that make them wake, in terror, heart pounding, sweat pouring, and hair standing on end.

7. It was a Customs violation |
|
It's illegal to import water pipes and some crates, along with a list of stores in Broward and Miami-Dade counties where the pipes were headed, were seized at the Port of Miami. Customs and Immigration now are part of the Department of Homeland security. Since it is a Customs violation, the federal government has jurisdiction and is able to apply federal standards (which are generally more stringent than county and municipal ones) to paraphernalia laws. All the stores on the list were raided.
It is creepy and Big Brother-ish and it's important to remember that the * Administration is pursuing a zero tolerance policy re: marijuana prohibition law. But the company that broke the law (to save a few bucks) knew what it was doing when it imported the pipes and they put all the businesses in the area at risk.
