in South Korea.

You have to be a subscriber to read the articles, but if you scroll down to "Sex slaves-in photos," you get the idea of what the US will be promoting in Bulgaria, Romania and Poland if army bases are moved there, unaccompanied, and out of Germany.

Real "Christian" values you have there, Mr. Bush~. Maybe you can introduce "juicy girls" into your 2004 campaign to get the military vote.

1. Notice that Army Times is publishing this....
The Sex Trade and prostitution is already going strong and has been in Eastern European cities like Prague, Warsaw and in many other ex-soviet border countries. The U.S. does not promote any of this, mostly it's the Russian Mafia.

The military is aware of it otherwise the Army Times would not be publishing it. If they say they are powerless then guess what, they probably are, because most countries in the world are powerless against the Russian Mafia.

Please don't bash the military in this manner: "if you scroll down to "Sex slaves-in photos," you get the idea of what the US will be promoting in Bulgaria, Romania and Poland if army bases are moved there, unaccompanied, and out of Germany."

The military or U.S. is not promoting anything I can see from that article. Yes, prostitution in some people's opinion is immoral...but it's the world's oldest profession...good luck in wiping it out.

12. The rise of sex slave industry
is appalling. Many of these are girls or very young women and are held against their will. Probably the US cannot eliminate the trade, but we can make it much less profitable and reduce the instances by imposing severe penalties on US citizens who engage in sexual activities with sex slaves.

8. I disagree that it can't be wiped out
It is a matter of the will to do so. Make the penalty severe enough and no one will risk getting caught. Roving sweeps of brothels by MPs with soldiers facing demotion, hard time, and stiff fines and you will seriously cut down on the trade.

6. Prostitution and armies are very ancient companions.
Do you know why we call prostitutes "hookers". Gen. Hooker in the U. S. Civil War allowed prositutes to follow his encampents. The girls became known as "Hookers girls". The name stuck.

Armies, for the most part are made up of young men, mostly 18 tpo 25 years old. If anyone here things that a young man that age has anything other that "getting some" on his mind then you know nothing of young men. It doesn't matter much what the military, (Anybody's military) tell the guys, the little head will do most of the thinking.

Anywhere there are lots of young men, there are prostitutes, lot of them.

7. 'Camp followers'
is a term for prostitutes that follow armies.

You're right, you can't have the one without the other. Not gonna happen.

10. Actual that Gen. Hooker story is a myth.
The term Hooker predates the Civil War.
Although it is true that Hooker himself "liked the ladies" and probably frequented houses of prostitution, that story about Hookers girls is a myth.
