steinem dead?
I think I just saw onthe CNN crawl that gloria steinem was dead.
Is this true?
If so, why hasn't it gotten more attention?

4. It was her husband, David Bale, according to a Google News search
http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/local/articles/0102deaths02.html

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - David Bale, a businessman, environmentalist and animal rights activist, died on Tuesday, his wife, feminist author Gloria Steinem, said. He was 62.
Steinem said the cause was primary brain lymphoma, for which Bale had been hospitalized since July. He moved from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to the Santa Monica Healthcare Center in November, she said.

Sad news, but it does explain the lack of attention.

:eyes: Perhaps a bit insensitive under the circumstances. (I cite the quote solely to offer a context for the allusion.)

I can only note that "need" and "want" are often two widely divergent notions. We humans "need" far, far less than we "want" -- it's our condition it seems, along with frequently "wanting" that which is antithetical to our "needs".

10. Crudely insensitive
I hope if you ever find yourself in similarly sad circumstances you'll receive kinder care than you're willing to offer.

12. And she waited so long to get married!
He was her first husband, and she was well into her sixties when they married in 2000.

So sad.
