I think they have had to cross a line into real la la land. Simply, to stay in that camp, you either have to put blinders on and hold your nose or be able to overlook reality to the extent of the religious right.

For example - the thing about trying to change the Grand Canyon story so it fits into a biblical time frame...

At what point does this type of belief system become its own liability?

I think someone recently say what's the tipping point? And this ties in to my position I have suggested a few times over the years of embracing and extending facism (sort of Bety Bowers style)... You have to get it to the tipping point to wake the sleeping giant...

As long as they can keep him asleep by treading lightly with trial balloons and focus groups, we'll be losing.
