Anybody know when the morning-after pill will be sold over the counter?

I've looked at the news, and so far the FDA hasn't reached a decision. Does anyone know when it will and how soon their decision will take effect in drug stores and supermarkets across the country?

1. in Bushco's america, it will only be available to married women-

single women shouldn't need it, if they follow god's laws. single women won't need a prescription from a Dr., but they will need to have a the letter "A" branded into their forehead.

a zygote is a fetus is a baby, even if it's just the morning after, and the religious rightoids aren't in favour of any devil's medicine that's going to kill babies and advance the cause of sluttery.

3. besides, how can one really offer a proof of marriage?

married women can take off their rings easily and single women can put on any ring and pass themselves off as married.

5. how soon is anybody's guess

It has cleared an important hurdle (December's advisory committee vote), but it now depends on how long the FDA will drag its feet.

7. I know it has been approved...

...for over the cunter sales here in Australia. But Australia isn't the United States, and we don't have near as many religious fundies dictating what should and shouldn't be.

I am guessing that once you get the dems back in power in the WH, Congress, and the Senate, then you might see it approved for counter sales.

15. It's going to happen. The FDA Advisory council voted 27-4 in favor of OTC

sales of the pill, and the FDA usually does what the advisory council advocates, so look for a final decision soon. After the final FDA ruling, I am sure that it will be marketed OTC immediately.
