Henry kissinger, Thomas kean & the 911 investigation ... Questions |
|
I am writting an entry in my online journal and need some facts that I can't seem to locate on google. Thanks for any help. :)
If I understand correctly, Bush tried to put kissinger in charge of the 911 investigation? What happened with that? How did Kean get put in there by Bush? Is kissinger floating around in the background somewhere, or is he out of it completely?
How did the 911 investigation get the may deadline... who gave it the deadline? Besides lack of funding and lack of corporation, are there any other things that have slowed the commission?
I read a story on Kean being connected to OBL though Khalid bin Mahfouz, but also read that former CIA director James Woolsey didn't have his facts straight when he said that. Has anything changed since then? And newer developments?

1. Kissenger runs a high power firm |
|
that deals with international relations and other corporate things. If he became the head of the 9/11 commission, he would have had to release the names of his clients. He didn't want to risk doing that, so he in turn stepped down.
Who knows what kind of clients he has? Corporations trying to make sweatshops in other countries? Funneling oil money in Central Asia?
Who knows?

2. OK, Kissenger stepped down, but.... |
|
.. what was it that made kean get selected to be chairman?
The only thing on the net that I can find about why there is a deadline is that the administration wants to know how/why sooner than later to prevent something like this from happening again. Thats a bunch of BS
If/When the commission finds credible information past the May deadline, the Bush administration IMO will try to disregard it.

5. Kean has ties to the Binladens too |
|
From what I've read, Kean has been in business with the Binladens too, just like the entire Bush family (There is no way Kean could be as corrupt as Kissenger, who has been corrupt for 30+ years).
Still, I'm glad Kean admitted that 911 "could have and should have" been prevented. Perhaps Kean is an honest American after all!

3. Source on Kean-Mahfouz connection was Fortune magazine |
|
That was where it first saw publication, and I don't recall them crediting Woolsey for anything about it. I don't have a link to the Fortune story handy, but if you google it, it should turn up on the first page. Was still there last time I looked....
