They are going crazy! They are going to IMPLODE! (FREEPERS)
I know that many of you don't go read what is said on the "other" site but here is a sample of what's been going on today. I went around on a few threads and just picked a few "comments" on Bush proposal about "illegals"... Quite fun to watch fighting... a bit like going to GD2004...lol

"
Bush is beyond pathetic!

Too bad...Senor W is what he should be called today...no Republican let alone American President should be allowed to get away with this.

I am pissed...and rightly so.

ALL I AM HEARING IS SPANISH! WE HAVE BEEN TAKEN OVER!

I use to like and respect Bush a lot but I am starting to dislike him even more. Bush is a Liberal, just face it guys. Maybe he isn't as Liberal as Dean and the rest of those idiots but he's still an ignorant Liberal when it comes to domestic issues. That's just a fact.

He insulted EVERY working American with those words "they will take jobs Americans won't take." It's just that same old sad stupid refrain of "they do jobs Americans won't DO"...he only changed ONE word.

GWB alienated a minumum of 10,000,000 of his conservative base by supporting this issue.

Our President is destroying this country. I've been a lifelong Pubbie since 1964. I'm thinking of switching and going for the Liebermeister. Allowing ILLEGAL immigrants legal status is against the law. Where is John Ashcroft on this issue?

Damn, I am so pissed-off at W that I switch the channels from Fox to CNN and back, just so I don't even want to hear this sell-out by a man that I loved as Commander-in-Chief.

W wants to give 8-13 million ILLEGAL immigrants the right to stay in this country

I hope he loses and the freaked out wacko nutcase dean wins. Then I will be the first one on FR to bust my ass laughing, becausee I more than likely will not see the end of his term. But I will laugh my ass off for the time I have left at the pissing and moaning about the crap he does. "

3. "Bush is a liberal"?
No, dear Freeper. He's a cheap-labor conservative. He wants to lower wages to help his *real* constituents (corporations). There's not a liberal bone in his body.

68. I'm sure they are
Some guy got menigitis from eating some on a dare in Australia. They were hosts to the larval from of a worm that caused the condition. A very rare case though. I beleive that they have been ingested on one of those reality TV shows like Survivor or Fear Factor and no one got sick. I imagine a nice mirepoix plus the half as much garlic and white wine to deglaze the pan after sauteeing the suckers might taste good, but who knows ?

He's reversed almost every good piece of legislation that has ever existed and his policies are going to reverse even more good legislation because we won't be able to finance social security, medicaid, medicare, the public education system or any state's university for that matter.
In 1991, I attended an open house at Columbia University(Ivy League). Cynicism was the only thing coming out of the mouth of the senior class. One girl said that she was graduating in the top 10% of the engineering class to get $25,000 a year and that's after building a debt of $60,000. A lot of people were angry.

Bush already figures that everything is set because he is going to be replaced with a freetrader.

If this idiot was born in 64, was he a 'pubbie' whilst getting the umbilical cut? If he was born before that and became one later, it couldn't be 'lifelong'. (I was a 'pubbie' from about age 13 to 21 because my dad was, and a racist too, but I got over that particular ailment.)

One thing about these 'good enough for legal residence, but not good enough for citizenship aliens' is that they are hard working, well intentioned, driven people - and not politically dumb or innocent. They've 'seen' plenty in their own countries. Plenty of hypocrisy. Like ours.

I wonder what think tanking group came up with the ploy that they would be interested in an incentive to go back home (after 3 years? - is that what he said - or was 3 years an example?)

31. Excellent
The more Bush does to piss off his whacko racist/fundy base, the better chance we have of winning in November. Believe it or not, but even Michael Savage is now saying that Bush deserves to lose because of the immigration issue. The same kind of thing happened in '92 when Poppy broke his "no new taxes" pledge; millions of conservatives stayed home on election day, and Clinton won by a landslide. It's a beautiful thing to behold as the Republicans destroy themselves simply because they don't like "furriners." I can't wait for President Dean's inauguration!

36. The amount of racism in the Republican Party is shocking
These people literally have to appeal to racists and bigots in order to have a chance of winning a national election. President Johnson was absolutely right when he said that the Civil Rights Act would deliver the South to the GOP for decades to come.

But what's really shocking is how the Republicans lie about history. They claim to be the Party of Lincoln, which is technically true, but they forget that the Republican Party of Lincoln's day was progressive (by 19th century standards), Northern, and relatively tolerant. The racist Southerners who now make up the bulk of the Republican base in 2004 would have hated and despised the Republicans of Lincoln's day.

. fewer lawyers to pay to fight the no green card accusations and investigations.

. access to the government database - easier to substantiate hiring

Can you add to this?

42. The rightwingers will get over it...
...just like they did after Bush signed Campaign Finance Reform.

Don't even for a moment think Bush will not hold his conservative base. He will. So long as American troops are fighting and dying in America's great "war on terror" crusade, Bush will be extremely popular on the right.

Every so often Bush takes a dump on his conservative base to try to win over some other constituency or "steal" an issue from Democrats, but at the end of the day the rightwing will still support him.

Bush gives the far right their conservative judges and tax cuts among lots of other goodies. Bush will never really lose their support.

All this rage on the right will pass just as it has every other time Bush pisses them off.

Imajika

73. not really; they tend to blame the immigrants
instead of Bush. Or at least they blame both.

Who do you think are the people carrying signs saying "deport illegal aliens".

56. You know what is really hilarious here?
These people are too caught up in their racist hype to actually appreciate the downright terrible prospects of this plan. They are either too stupid to realize what a handout to corporations this is, or they just don't care about that aspect of it.
They are having way too much fun attacking people who don't natively speak english.

57. They don't really care if people get exploited
As long as the rich get their tax cuts.

60. Thats the part I just cannot figure out
Are they so stupid that they just don't realize they are pawns of the elites, or do they actually think that they will be that rich someday?
How do they expect to become rich? Through hard work and perseverence? Bullshit.

62. They really do believe that fairy tale
And they don't realize that people are rich when they have a great amount of scarce resources. No fundamental understanding of economics whatsoever.

66. Yes,they're that dumb

All the outer party members have dreams of becoming the rich 1% of the inner party. In the meantime, they all listen intently to big brother and cheer because the chocolate ration has been increased from 30 grams to 20.

69. White (collar) flight
Yes,

But WTO is rapidly reducing peoples proximity to the Republican center. I am among the group of programmers who went and got my education like they told me. Than they shipped my job overseas.

When more white collar workers get their pink-slip, they will realized that they've been used. This idiocy cannot last forever. That is, people won't keep voting for Bush under these circumstances.

Of course, if Bush has his way, his machines will be installed in every US precinct. Then the theocratic corpratists (new Republicans) will win every election.

Seriously, this immigration/jobs/wto thing is the great untapped issue. Only one democrat has embraced anti-WTO, thats Dennis Kucinich. Unfortunately, Dennis is also for amnesty.

The Dems need to ditch every issue that alienates southern voters. It's no sense fighting for gay rights when ALL our rights are under assault. Your just alienating potential voters.

When they don't understand something, they fear it. When they fear something, they usually hate it. When they hate, they destroy. Or at least try to destroy.

61. You know Rove is just Tone Deaf
He has a tin ear. This is so bone-headed I can't believe they did it.

You know, under this, couldn't they bring in IT and programmers from India, work them in 3-year stints at low wages, and lay off any of the rest of us who still have jobs?

65. I usually can't stomach FR
but I was gleefully reading their posts today! If they get it, maybe the rest of the country will. There are some really pissed off people over there-its not going to be easy to apease them. There are some that 'trust w knows what he is doing' (gag) but I really think some are waking up. Whether this is for politics (highly likely) or for corporate cronies(also likely) it isn't for their base. Plus from what I've read about it, it isn't practical or likely to work. So its a WIN-WIN for us. It'll be interesting to watch the fall out. (rubbing hands and cackling)

I would vote for him, he's one of the handful of dems that I like. He's infinitely more conservative and honorable than Bush.

He, Zell Miller and Trafficant (goofy as he is) are more in touch with us than most Republicans.

72. tinfoil: the point is to register these illegal immigrants
(besides trying to win spanish voters)

So we have 'big brother' registering a certain 'class' of people.

Makes it easier to do big brother-like things. Such as pitting one part of the population against another part.

Already we see demonizing of illegal immigrants; as though the problem is with their very presence in the US - whereas the problem is with Bush giving them US jobs. Which happens to be to the advantage of the same big corporatons which run the government that decided to give these people US jobs in a time of rising unemployment.

Ain't capitalism great. At least some repubs may now start to see that capitalism can indeed go to far, that some form of restrictions on capitalism may no be such a bad idea after all. That maybe it was not such a good idea to support reduction of such restrictions (deregulation) all these years.

I'd say, if anyone ought to be "deported", it's the people in the whitehouse.

74. Oh, my,
the kiddies are finally waking up from their nap, how precious!

"Bush is a liberal", HA, now that's really hilarious, isn't it?

"Bush is destroying this country." Now THAT is scary, I NEVER thought I'd find myself agreeing with a freeper!

"He insulted all Americans by saying that "they will do jobs Americans won't take." Actually, he insults all Americans just by pretending to be president and pretending to have been elected to an office he blatantly stole.
