Daniel Zwerdling on Iraq War casualties |
|
An hour ago on ATC, Zwerdling investigated the number of injured and ill soldiers evacuated from Iraq. The main thrust of the piece was how difficult it was to obtain any numbers and what a runaround he got from the Pentagon etc. Also emphasized was how little media coverage has been devoted to non-fatal casualties. He even interviewed an unhappy soldier who felt their suffering was being covered up. At the end Senator Hagel was interviewed, and was scathing about military secrecy on this issue.
I always liked DZ as host of Weekend Edition, and today he showed that he is an honest journalist unlike many of his whore colleagues at NPR.
BTW the number was almost 9000-- and no mention was made of the number of casualties *not* evacuated.

I wonder how many DAV's will come as a result of Bush's needless oil war.

2. I was surprised that "People Magazine" had all |
|
the casulties of the Iraqi Invasion listed in the back with their pictures in the December 29, 2003 issue. The magazine also had a story about ol' numnuts(bush) in the front of the magazine(like there was no connection!):(
