Bush? He started his final descent today. Gallup is bogus.
Edited on Thu Jan-08-04 02:14 AM by TruthIsAll
Today BushCo showed just how scared they are. It was a move of sheer desperation, to all of a sudden call 10 million illegals, legal. Rove really needs that Hispanic vote, yes? Well, they ain't getting it with this transparent political pandering. It backfired with the base. Bigtime.
Call it IllegalAlienGate.

Today 60 Minutes did a program on the so-called Bush "Texas Miracle". As we all knew at DU, this was another lie; the testing numbers and Houston HS graduates was bogus. Now America knows it. No miracles. Only disaster. Thanks, Dan Rather. Don't you feel cleansed, now that you're telling the truth about Bush? Now you know how Palast feels. It's liberating, to be a real journalist. It's about time. What took you so long? It's old news. Better late than never.
Call it TexasMiracleGate.

And Ellen Mariani, well she didn't get any publicity when she served BushCo papers. But she will, within 60 days.
Call it VictimGate.

As for the Plame/Wilson case, it's moving right along. We have a new prosecutor who looks like he just might do his job. At least Ashcroft thinks so.
Call it TreasonGate.

Kirsten Breiteiser won't just give up until those sticky 911 questions are addressed. The Commission coverup is already legion. It's Warren Commission deja vu. What can BushCo be hiding?
Call it 911Gate.

And finally, Colin Powell appearing on Nightline tonight lying about his UN lies. Sorry, Colin. Harry Belafonte was right.
Call it IraqGate.

No, we don't believe the CNN/Gallup polls. The numbers make no sense. Gore won last time, and your support is crumbling. Those polling numbers will not fool us into accepting a Diebold-cyberspace Bush landslide in Nov.
Call it PollGate.

Oh, finally, the Carnegie Group made it official today. The report concludes that "administration officials systematically misrepresented the threat from Iraq's WMD and ballistic missile programmes".
Call it WMDGate.

Had enough? No? Try this one.

Kevin Phillip's book is out. Number 10 on Amazon! Kicking Bush ass, from Poppy to Puppy. He must have read DU. He was on CSPAN and that Repuke's show. What's his name? His assistant was found dead in his office. Oh, yea, the Scarborough man.
Call it BFEEGate.

We have only just begun. I love the smell of scandal in the morning.

3. I saw the 60 Minutes II piece.
Chimpy's useless brother pulled the same shell game in Florida and now the truth is coming to the surface. The wheels are now falling off of Jeb's wagon.

This is getting to be a humorous predicament for the RNC. The way Chimpy keeps screwing up they can't make him their candidate for prez. And if they don't nominate him that will be an admission of what a miserable failure he was for four years.

I love it.

Dude, * staged his fuck up. It's all part of his golden parachute.

He's already fucked everything up so bad that we are going to have repercussions for the next several generations. His fuck ups are so bad that it's doomed social security, medicare, medicaid, and our whole education system.

All he has to do now is replace his Supreme Court justices.

His replacement is going to be a freetrading, occupationist, military-industrialist. Just another * clone but with a (D) next to their name. So he ain't going to care.

BTW...we are never going to get out of a recession until we get out of Iraq. Every country on this planet is going to punish the US in the pocketbook.

They know it too. They need a Dem to step in and straighten out the coutry.

Why because there will be nothing left to plunder if they don't. Start looking for traitors jumping off the Bushit Band Wagon now. Some of them don't have golden parachutes and they are going to be looking to hedge their bets pretty soon.

You can't tell me Poppy Bushit looked at his watch 3 times by accident during the debate. Once yes, but 3 times. Give me a break. It was "hey look America I don't give a shit about what you think". Diffenit sphyc-ops to turn the american voter CLEAN OFF

Further more Greenspan wants out. He is talking retirement. The books are cooked and dollar is tipping down. Ya gotta love it - the Bushit economy

13. Triangularization
Bush is trying to pull a Clinton. He is trying to hedge into the other parties issue.

One point of the triangle was "prescription drugs". This is the other point of the triangle. Like Clinton's triangle (welfare reform), it is predicated on the notion that:

1) He no longer has to get a nomination from the base of his party.
2) There is no viable alternative in the "other" party.

So lets say your a Klansman and you hate non-whites and despise immigration. Does that mean your going to vote democratic???? I don't think so.

I too don't like this announcement. Labor in this country is being massacred by Free Trade, H1-B and outsourcing. It's government by corporations for corporations.

But you see, the Democrats have no viable alternative to EITHER policy. The Democrats are caught in their own net of relying on recent immigrants for votes. Bush is cutting them off at the knees by courting the "other whites" of the hemisphere and actively encouraging even more migration of low-paid Republican voters.

Of course, this doesn't sit well with the low to medium paid Republican voters. Who are they going to vote for???? Well, Bush is really ticking off the old guard Republicans. Dare I say the Reagan Republicans. They like their conservatism just fine without the "compassion", thank you. Their champion is good old Pat Buchanan.

Remember, Pat Buchanan? He's as traditional right as they come. Democrats LOVE to hate old Pat. But guess what? Pat was and still is honest about who he is and what he believes in. In that respect he's far better than "compassionate" George.

Pat Buchanan may be the Democrats best ally in 2004. Pat doesn't like the way his party is heading. I'm sure that old Bubba hates it. He hates domestic minorities that speak the language. He doesn't need foreign minorities to change his beloved culture.

If not, I'm sure someone will rise out of the woodwork to oppose this. I'm sorry my Democratic friends, but promoting illegal immigration is NOT a racist policy. There are no "new frontiers". We cannot subsidize the poor of foreign nations by accepting them and driving down domestic wages (thereby making rich people richer).

Perhaps the next few years will see another historic flip in policy. If the democrats are smart they'll give the immigrant vote to the Republicans. They'll give up California and take the south. They'll take a kindler gentler Bubba in return.

Labor is now the #1 simmering issue in this country. If the democrats are smart, they can turn this to their advantage. They will give the party back to labor. They can embrace Bubba (pickups and confederate flags). They can abandon fringe homosexual issues. this may be the only way to beat the unholy money alliance of the Theocratic Corpratists (The Cult of Supply Side Jesus).

19. The real cure will be fair wages + eviron laws in NAFTA
If we can get that passed, and undo the damnage that Shrub has done with overtime pay and assorted other abominations, then we can stem the tide of immigration. Until NAFTA is saddled with the laws of every industialized nation this cycle will continue.

Also, I agree with you that real conservatives are disgusted..my Dad is having a convulsions from this. However, we don't need my Dad to vote for a Democrat, all he needs to do is be disgusted enough to just stay home on election day.

16. Maybe they don't care about public opinion.
Do they know the election is already fixed? Or,will they pull out a dramatic capture of Usama Ben Laden in late October just after a
major terrorist attack on Washington? I can see it now. Our fearless leader flys to Pakastan to personally lead the Special Forces team to capture Public Enemy Number One (who, by the way, has been kept in a special cave just for the right moment). Our fearless freeper, I mean leader, emerges from the cave with his M16 firmly stuck in the back of a handcuffed, dirty, and drugged Usama. It all unfolds with live television during the Fox halftime show of the Redskins-Cowboys Sunday afternoon NFL broadcast. The American public buys it hook, line, and sinker. Bush wins in a landslide. Like taking candy from a baby.

Did anyone read the S Factor by Neal Starkman? He basically said that a majority of the American people are so stupid, they will fall for anything.

Such a measure will NOT pass in congress. W probably knows it, Rove certainly knows it. The GOAL, of course, is to peel some Hispanic votes away from the Democratic nominee, even before the primaries. After the lip service it gets this week, it will disappear into the bowels of the next congress, never to see the light of day again. Then, in October, bush* will run ads IN SPANISH which talk about his amnesty initiatives. His ads in English will not mention it at all.

And W's base is stupid enough to go for it.

Current LBN stories show:

-The wmds lies being exposed in article after article.

-Troops balking at bribes to extend enlistments.

-35 hit at a US base in Iraq.

-MORE reservists being called up.

For lies.

It does look like all hell's about to break loose for the bush gang on several fronts, and I agree he'll be pulled down by many of these things. But what he's done and is doing to our guys should have his own party in Congress calling for impeachment.

How anyone who supports the troops can support this regime is beyond me.

34. I see we have another fantasyland thread..
"BUSH IS TOAST"

What nonsense. Why do people keep repeating this manure over and over again.

"Well, they ain't getting it with this transparent political pandering. It backfired with the base. Bigtime. Call it IllegalAlienGate."

How do you know it has backfired? The base has forgiven him for everything else it opposed to include CFR and Prescription Drug Benefits. The conservative base will not turn on Bush - he has given them far too much that they do want such as judicial nominees, tax cuts, massive defense spending increases, etc, etc. The rightwing base will scream and fret for a few days, then go back to supporting him.

"Today 60 Minutes did a program on the so-called Bush 'Texas Miracle'. As we all knew at DU, this was another lie; the testing numbers and Houston HS graduates was bogus. Now America knows it."

Oh please. America doesn't know it. A few people that were interested enough to watch 60 minutes on this given evening may know it, but that would be about it.

"And Ellen Mariani, well she didn't get any publicity when she served BushCo papers. But she will, within 60 days. Call it VictimGate."

She will never get any publicity at anytime. Your fooling yourself if you think the mainstream press are going to take her seriously ever.

"As for the Plame/Wilson case, it's moving right along. We have a new prosecutor who looks like he just might do his job. At least Ashcroft thinks so. Call it TreasonGate."

This may or may not amount to anything. I suspect nothing will come of it. You can call it treasongate, but the mainstream media never will and so long as Bush is not directly implicated, the entire thing won't hurt him at all. Infact, if the investigation turns up someone who can be prosecuted, and Bush fires them immediately he may even get a bit of a bounce in the polls for reinforcing the idea that he takes US national security so seriously.

"Kirsten Breiteiser won't just give up until those sticky 911 questions are addressed. The Commission coverup is already legion. It's Warren Commission deja vu. What can BushCo be hiding?
Call it 911Gate."

Nothing will come of this. Kean couldn't even stand for one day on a few tough statements he made about 9-11 being prevented and administration people that shouldn't stay in their positions. The commission will turn up nothing that hurts Bush.

"And finally, Colin Powell appearing on Nightline tonight lying about his UN lies. Sorry, Colin. Harry Belafonte was right.
Call it IraqGate."

Colin Powell is extremely popular. I've seen no evidence that the America public has lost even the slightest bit of faith in him.

"No, we don't believe the CNN/Gallup polls. The numbers make no sense. Gore won last time, and your support is crumbling."

You can believe whatever you want, but to "not believe" Gallup polls because you don't think the "numbers make sense" is to bury your head in the sand and not face reality.

"Those polling numbers will not fool us into accepting a Diebold-cyberspace Bush landslide in Nov. Call it PollGate."

Oh please. Back to the silly voting machine conspiracies again. There is no evidence at all that Diebold fixed the voting machines to benefit Republicans anywhere.

The public accepted Bush's victory before, and they will do it again should he win (even if it were under the same dubious circumstances).

"We have only just begun. I love the smell of scandal in the morning."

Your deluded. Flaps, scandals, firestorms, etc, etc happen to all administrations all of the time. The vast majority of this stuff just blows over. To get all wound up and repeatedly declare "Bush is Toast" everytime Bush has a few days of bad press shows remarkable naivete and a complete lack of understanding of how modern American politics actually works.

Bush is not toast. Infact, I suspect he has strengthened his odds of winning in 04' over the last 2 months. He is going to be very, very, very hard to beat. The "Bush is done", "Bush is toast", "Bush is finished" crowd are just not living in the real world.

You are saying BushCo's scandals are no different from past administrations? So they are all guilty of similar crimes?

They are way different. But you are right about one thing, Imajika. The people are so dumbed-down and Bush controls the media, that he just might get away with it.

That is why 2004 is shaping up as Good vs. Evil.

But as the righteous indignation crescendoed from start to finish of Bush-Baby's list of dastardly evil deeds, I wondered - like so many times before - if we'll only end up scratching our heads in amazement and wanting to throw things as the Junta deflects it all with lies, lies, and moreso and the media looks away..

Then again, there HAS to be a critical mass when the weight of so much deception and dishonesty implodes in on them....and I think there just might be enough time between now and November for that to occur. Drip, drip, drip...
