How will they divert media attention today (Powell news conference at 11)
Edited on Thu Jan-08-04 09:26 AM by nu_duer
Bad news today for the regime.

The WMD report out today.

(As this was discussed on CNN a bit ago, the graphic on the screen read "Powell news conference at 11" - this is while the anchor was interviewing the guy who put out the WMD report today (didn't catch his name). The anchor asked if the conclusion was faulty intel or unreliable info from Iraqi refugees. The response was that it was clear the adminstration pressured the intel community to manipulate its findings. The interview was quickly ended.)

The attack on the US base in Iraq.

The dowing of another Black Hawk - 9 dead now.

(CNN again. Some general talking matter of factly about the ongoing bush-caused chaos in Iraq as if everything was going to plan.)

Isn't it the pattern that something will "happen" to push the real news to the back burner? What could Powell possibly have to say after last night's Nightline?

2. I am in shock that the base attack wasn't front page news
On cable news, the story of the Black Hawk and the base attack were about the 3rd or 4th story. It really makes me sick, I stayed up almost all night trying to get info about base attack, it took forever. This proves to me the media will politicize even the deaths and injuries of our loved ones to protect the Bush junta.

3. Soon we'll be "celebrating" the one-year anniversary
of the occupation. How will the media play that up?

4. The last time I watched Colin Powell was February 5, 2003
Needless to say what he talked about that day.

I can't stand to watch him anymore after the American people gave Mr. Powell a pass on his credibility.

If I believed in devils, Colin Powell would be a perfect candidate, just from his looks.
