“Why Christians Should Not Vote for George W. Bush”
http://www.wherethetruthhurts.org/tractsbooksread.php?w=59

Hmmmmm......some of the REAL born-agains are seeing through Bush-Baby's act and he's pissed off a large portion of his remaining base with his latest Immigration proposal.

Can it be?

Can it be?

Can it be the moment of Critical Mass?

Can implosion be far behind?

Oh, Lawdy, Lawdy, let it be so!

1. Well, the Judges FIght
That was for their benefit--a largely meaningless symbolic act, but it did get them all riled up. I expect this year he'll try to pull off a more moderate act.

2. Never understood how they could in the first place; I think Christianity
and Repiglicanism are mutually exclusive. The Christian "Right" is neither; they are the Pharisees of the 21st Century.

4. That's what "www.JesusNoRepublican.Org/" is all about !
Edited on Thu Jan-08-04 10:57 AM by JesusNoRepublican
If only Liberals and /or Democrats would get the word out about http://www.JesusNoRepublican.Org/ and http://www.LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/ !!!!

The article refered to in this thread is a farce because it urges "Christians" not to vote for Bush because he is not Conservative ENOUGH!

What the sites above argue is that Bush is NO FOLLOWER of CHRIST!

5. also check out TheocracyWatch.org
excellent site documenting the Religious Right's takeover of the GOP, how Bush's agenda comes almost to a tee from the religious right's agenda, etc.

3. Bush is Liberal?
This is a good article, but they associate the things Bush does with being liberal, while I think they are hard right.

If they think that W is "too liberal." Good God, how much farther to the right can they possibly GO?

12. exactly...
Both my husband an I have been saying that we aren't necessarily liberal, it is just that the scale is skewed. We are about dead center on most things, but the right has skewed so much further right, that those in the middle are now on the left.

The writers of this article see * as liberal? How much further right would he have to be to satisfy them? He and his are bordering on full-blown fascism. If they went where these folks want him to be, they'd have to reinstate the Spanish Inquisition.

He'd have to start rounding up Jews and Gays and "non-Christians" for reeducation before these freaks would consider him worthy.

This is not a good sign for our side. It is a sign that there are some zealots out there that are even far worse than Bushie himself.

10. Well, whatever way they choose to view it
the bottom line is none of them like Bush. For whatever reason, none of them will be voting for him.

Cause for rejoicing however they choose to rationalize their abhorrence.

There is something wrong with him and people sense it even when they can't articulate the reason why.

6. this is excellent and REALLY important
if enough of the fundies can be demobilized from voting, or convinced to vote only for totally antiabortion with no exceptions candidates, it could make a huge difference.

This is the kind of article that should be spread wide and far among christian folk all over the country.

9. Don't get your hopes up - this guy is way whacko
This Johnson guy is a real whacko - he hardly represents even the RW Christians. He defends the right to murder abortion providers, among other things. He also is a gun nut - now isn't that a lovely combination?

14. So The "born again" crowd is pissed about
Giving brown, poor and non WASPS legal protection. How very Xtian of them. My god. What would Jesus have to say about Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell? Never mind, I think he already said something about camels and eyes of needles, etc.

16. Bush is to Christianity what disco is to music.
I'm an agnostic but know a bit about Christianity. If you read what Jesus said, rather than what what the apostles wrote about what he said, or the "church" says he meant, you find a rather revolutionary, certainly left-wing activist against the establishment. Hardly a role model for either the fundies or the DumbSon.

Both seem to have a lot of knowledge about the bloodthirsty, taliban like edicts of the Old Testament, and adhere to it. But, other than paying lip service to the teachings of Jesus, and depicting him as a cross between Rambo and and an Austrian ski-instructor, they have little use for his philosophy.
