pleasure of the President." That's all he would respond to Koppel's question about his future political ambitions. What do you think his noon press conference means? Did Bush fire him? Is he Bush's running mate for 2004 since Cheney is such a liability?

3. It was the only thing he said during the interview that was the
absolute truth.

It is sad that Powell has associated himself with the bush* admin. and sadder yet that he continues a feeble attempt to try to justify his actions when everyone knows the truth.

6. That's what happens when
you sell yourself to the highest bidder. It just makes for a very messy life afterwards.

7. SOP in the WH
FYI, editorializing aside.

Every cabinet member and appointee in the White House, any administtration, submits a signed resignation as one of their first duties when they accept the position.

They all answer that question the same way, whether they really enjoy the position or the president or not.

The WH Chief of Staff, or in the case of cabinet level people, the President themselves, may "accept" the pre-signed letter at any time they see fit.

Clinton, Carter and every Democrat as well as the Repugs do it the same way since well before Roosevelt (Franklin).

My cousin worked as a deputy press secretary in the Carter WH.

8. A broken man is what he is
sold his soul to devil. How will history record a man who could have been great in his own rights? A patsy.
