4. This isn't a winning issue with anybody |
|
I might actually be inclined to support such a maneuver if I thought Bush was doing it for the right reasons...but I'm far too smart to believe that.

6. Do you believe it's a farce, a transparent grab for votes? Say yes |
|
Apparently 6 percent believe it's "humane." How touching.
94 percent see through it. What a crock of BS from the Whitewash House.

A lot of the opposition to immigration is based on racism and xenophobia, just like it was in the early 1800's, 1850's and early in the 20th century. What % of non-Hispanic and non-Asian racists oppose immigration? 99%? Our numbers are inflated by this.

9. I have NO problem with immigration, no matter what race, nationality, etc |
|
my problem is Corps taking advantage of impoverished, desperate people, by paying them sub-standard wages and thus avoiding paying decent wages to people who live here already. Doesn't matter to me if they come here, or if the Corp sends the jobs out to them, either way they sell out American citizens
If, instead of this plan, Bush chose to lower the minimum wage down to $5.15 per day, the result would be much the same, as would my opposition to it

10. I don't believe that you do |
|
But the sad fact is that many people who oppose immigration do so because of racism and xenophobia.

11. indeed. And sadly, I expect MOST do |
|
and then blame the immigrants for "taking all of our jobs" when it is the (mostly) white rich fats-cats giving away those jobs
