Today I found out that not only is former Steeler great Lynn Swann a freeper, he's also appearing at the Bush rally here next week.

2. How do you think us Nolan Ryan fans feel? |
|
I'd wonder about blows to the head, but Ryan delivered them instead of taking them. Ask Robin Ventura. (Can you believe no one's forgotten that, yet?)

Once you mentioned it, I saw the headlock Nolan had on Robin.

7. Ryan was on Jim Rome last week |
|
And it was Rome's highlight question of the interview.
Rangers fans haven't forgotten. Not like we've had anything to replace the memory with...

That really upsets me - he was one of my all-time faves. How could he be a freeper. I have pictures of Lynn Swan and Terry Bradshaw - do I have to rip them up?

It is such a blow to find out stuff like that. I don't know about you but it always makes it hard to think the same of them again.

10. Too many of these football players are. |
|
Same goes for pro athletes in general. Unfortunately, the reality is the money they are paid makes them part of the elite class. These millionaires were some of the first to benefit from *'s tax cuts for the wealthy. They know who butters their bread.
I try to separate my political views from sports. I'd rather not know what they think. If I did I would probably hate so many of these guys I wouldn't ever be able to enjoy watching the games. The reality for me is I love pro sports - and football in particular - for the beauty of the game itself, even if the players are ridiculously overpaid and many of them are freepers and fundies. What I don't know won't hurt me on this one.
