ZombyWoof's Crock Pot Chili: Tax Day Style!
Going to have a pot luck with the co-workers tomorrow to celebrate the end of the tax season. Experimenting with this chili recipe for my crock pot:

1 lb of stew meat
2 15 oz cans of dark red kidney beans
2 16 oz cans of Mexican style sliced tomatoes
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 6 oz can of tomato paste
1/2 of a 5 oz bottle of Tabasco
1 green pepper, minced
1 onion, minced
1 4 oz can of green chiles
3 tbs of hot Mexican style chili powder
1 bay leaf
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp of marjoram
Lots of fresh ground black pepper

I will brown the stew meat in a thin layer of olive oil on the bottom of the pot. Then stir in everything else and let it cook all morning before going in...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

10. Refund?
I'm talking about the end of aggravation. It's only one day a year when your benevolent government forces all solid citizens to become a CPA and a Tax Lawyer.

6. How does one slice a tomato "Mexican style"?
And how much of a difference does that make after cooking for hours?

19. slice your onion with a razor
so thin it'll dissolve when cooked.-- a movie reference. do you know which one?

The only chili i have made was, uhmmm, vegetarian, so no help here.

I'd be happy to supply you with some coffee soap, though. :D

Enjoy the food and fun.

And a toast to the end of the tax season :toast:

:loveya: :hi:  :loveya:

22. Shame about the Tabasco, it's so 'everyday'
There are many, better alternatives, but of course it's your chili and you can do whatever you want with it.

29. this is for a general audience
But it complements the tomatoes quite well. If this were just for me, I would add a diced habanero. Gotta please the masses...

Always keep a bottle handy for versatility and subtle flavor boosting, not so much as a 'hot sauce'.

38. I was a judge in a chili cookoff a few years ago
All of us unanimously agreed that this one person's chili was by far the best. Her secret ingredient was tequila. :9

It was also unanimously agreed that after sampling 20 different kinds of chili, we were in desperate need of some prescription strength Tums. :o

The Most Holy of Holy Days are very exciting this year. We're up 3-1 on Dallas so far. Honestly, I wish Dallas would play better, especially in goal. It's disappointing to see them play below their ability in a playoff game.

Canucks and Flames are beating the crap out of each other. Suits me just fine.

Predators are skating circles around Detroit's old man crew. Suits me just fine too.

:D
