Need a Geocacher to PM me, please.
Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 08:17 AM by southerngirlwriter
An editor just called and asked me for a 600 word piece on geocaching.

WTF is it, first of all?

Secondly, anyone who does it feel like being interviewed for a magazine? :D (PM me.)

On edit: thanks. Now I need a PM from someone who wants to be interviewed about it.

1. Here's a Geocaching FAQ
http://www.geocaching.com/faq/

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache.

3. I understand it's a lot of fun
if you participate. The caches are usually very small, not worth a lot of money or anything. You record your find, then put it back for someone else to find.

It's the fun of going on a scavenger hunt. If I had a GPS, I'd do it. :D

6. Thanks. If I don't get another person to interview by
this afternoon (i.e., a volunteer) I'll start the begging with him.
