Garden questions...any help?

I have a couple of questions for any gardeners out there in DU land:
1) I got a lovely container of mixed bulbs from Hubby for my B-day; tulips and I don't know what all else, it's not all up yet. Do I need to wait until fall to plant them? Can I sink the container itself in the garden for the spring/summer and then plant the bulbs in the fall? Will I screw up the growing cycle of the bulbs if I plant them now?
2) Can anyone help me identify a wildflower that has leaves very similar to those of a columbine, but it grows very low to the ground, and has small, dime-sized 5-petaled white flowers. It's in bloom now here in south-central Minnesota.

1. You can plant the bulbs now

I've started them in containers too and then replanted them after they bloom. I would plant them a few inches apart. You won't screw up their cycle.

I don't know what your wildflower is - do you have a picture?

2. Thanks! No, sorry, I have been trying to find a wildflower ID site but my

PC is screwing up royally and keeps wanting to shut down when I click on any links from Google, not sure WTF is up with that.
