..."See the man with the...in his hand. He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands, and he's gonna settle down, in this lazy little town and forget about everything....But you know he'll never stop running (repeat)...cause he's rolling, he's the rolling stone...One more year and you will be happy, just one more year and you woill be happy, but you're crying, you're crying now."

Then cue the saxaphone...DA-NA-NA, DA-NA NA-naidta!

5. The Foo Fighters do a GREAT cover of that song.
Guitar instead of sax, though. Still, it's very nice.

6. Yep. Ole' Gerry.
Used to be with Stealer's Wheel.

Remember - "Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Here I am. Stuck in the middle with you."

Soundslike the descrition of one of *'s cabinet meetings...

17. That was Stealer's Wheel (he and Joe Egan)
They weren't one hit wonders either, as they also did Star.

Gerry had several hits: http://www.top40db.org/Artists/ID_1978.shtml

16. Thank You Everybody!
I've been bothering everybody at work, and nobody remembered!

And you're right, I didn't know he also did that "Stuck in the Middle" song, so he's off the Big Country-Waitresses-Plimsouls-Teardrop Explodes list for good.

Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 09:42 AM by JaySherman
I've been driftin on a sea of heartbreak, tryin to get myself ashore
For so long
For so long
Listenin to the strangest stories, wonderin where it all went wrong
For so long
For so long
But hold on hold on hold on to what you got
cue sax

One of Art Bell's bumper songs on Coast to Coast

9. Who did this one?
Can't remember the words to the verse but the chorus goes:

For you are a magnet and I am steel

Strange words to this song but I liked the tune. Anyone know that one?

Got another one...anyone know this song?:
She's just sixteen years old, leave her alone they say. Seperated by fools who don't know what love is yet but I want you to know...IF I COULD FLY I'LD PICK YOU UP I'LD TAKE YOU INTO THE NIGHT AND SHOW YOU A LOVE...ECT.

Again...strange words but a good song.....was the guy that wrote that one a child molester????

14. THE place for obscure song queries
club977's forums.

Take a look at this: http://club977.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=667&sid=21e3ed7b1ac52e4b1db088b290b38bb6

I'd been hunting this song for more than TWENTY FSCKING YEARS!

The band name and the title made that song virtually unsearchable. And I had no usable fragments of lyrics other than the title -- my English wasn't that good back then.

15. Love that tune, here's another one:
"Did you have any bad dreams, did you break any glass?
Would you be my companion, is there even a chance?"

I know this is pretty easy, but I love the bass part.

I think was there name with "Smiling Faces, Sometimes" I just like that song so much. Reminds me of happy times when the road lay ahead full of promise. And we thought Watergate was bad! I like the line that say "Beware of the pat on the back, it just might hold you back"

Baker Street (Extended Mix)
by Undercover

Album :

Winding your way down to Baker Street
Light in your head and dead on your feet
Well, another crazy day, you'll drink the night away
And forget about everything

This city desert makes you feel so cold
It's got so many people, but it's got no soul
And it's taken you so long to find out you were wrong
And you thought about everything

You used to think that it was so easy
You used to say that it was so easy
But you're trying, you're trying now

Another year and then you'll be happy
Just one more year and then you'll be happy
But you're crying, you're crying now

Way down the street there's a light in his place
He opens the door, he's got that look on his face
And he asks where you've been
You tell him who you've seen, and you talk about anything

He's got this dream about buying some land
He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stand
And then he'll settle down in this quiet little town
And forget about everything
:dunce:

But you know he's gonna keep moving
You know he's never gonna stop moving
He's rolling, he's the rolling stone

When you wake up it's a new morning
The sun is shining, it's a new morning
But you're going, you're going home

Winding your way down to Baker Street
Light in your head and dead on your feet
Well, another crazy day, you'll drink the night away
And forget about everything

This city desert makes you feel so cold
It's got so many people, but it's got no soul
And it's taken you so long to find out you were wrong
And you thought about everything

You used to think that it was so easy
You used to say that it was so easy
But you're trying, you're trying now

Another year and then you'll be happy
Just one more year and then you'll be happy
But you're crying, you're crying now:cry:
